UPDATES FROM PERMATANG PHAU BY THE HOUR.

FROM HENCEFORTH PP IS NOT ONLY PERMATANG PAUH
BUT
PEOPLES POWER!

BY THE HOUR we hope to keep you updated on PEOPLES POWER in Permatang Pauh.(bold italics in parenthesis, my kay-poh rejoinders)

From Malaysia Today:

Malaysia Today

Malaysia Today will try to update you with the latest developments in Permatang Pauh from time to time, as the reports from the ground come in. Tonight, we shall also try to give you the unofficial results from the polling station/counting centres ahead of the official results.

10.30am

Some PKR ‘pondok panas’ were abandoned. It is reported that BN may have bought off some party workers so that there would be no PKR pondok panas to service the voters.

There is a reported heavy presence of security personnel in the Chinese areas. It is suspected that this move is meant to intimidate the Chinese voters so that they do not come out to vote. Some security personnel were seen ‘marching in formation’ as if ready for confrontation.

UMNO is targeting to ensure that Anwar Ibrahim wins with not more than a 10,000-vote majority. If UMNO can reduce Anwar’s majority to a mere 10,000 votes then this will be accepted as a ‘victory’ for BN and a cause for celebration.

Forecasts from the ground say that Anwar may win with a 15,000-17,000 majority. (that translates into my losing the wager)....there goes my 21300 majority!!!!...my grandma alsways said I dont have the sinister look of most gamblers...you heard this OBE)Around 70% of the 58,000 voters are expected to turn out. 69% of the voters are Malays and 31% non-Malays. Anwar is expected to secure 55%-60% of the Malay votes and about 80% or so of the non-Malay votes. (point out the 20% non-Malay votes....long time since I wringed necks.)

The Bloggers from Kuala Lumpur, who have been campaigning and conducting ceramahs in Permatang Pauh since the weekend, are now on the ground visiting the polling stations. RPK’s wife is also making her rounds of the polling stations in a last-ditch attempt to woo the voters.

+++++

from PP on ground-zero:

Intimidation of Chinese voters were evident in Sebrang Jaya. However, it must be noted that the Chinese today is too different from the Chinese of the late sixties. Although heavily polarised in school, today the working Chinese have many Malay and Indian friends who will stand Shoulder to Shoulder and walk Side by Side with them.Read my lips, dahling.

+++++

SMS from KL:

The renegade PKR Zulkifli Nordin, from Kulim is reported to have resigned from PKR, although he denied this yesterday. Is this good or bad for PKR? What a stupid question?( RENEGADES ARE NEVER GOOD FOR ANY AFFILIATION.)

+++++

From Gus Gan of the Wharf: 12 noon

Earlier, a scuffle between PKR and BN at Kampong Tiong Wah, whilst the police took a watching role....sounds familiar, or are they on strike for better pay....(or as RPK just whispered, they were busy placing bets on the outcome of the election.)

In most pondoks PKR people kept encouraging each other to be come and not to be too easily intimidated....they say the same thing to those who came in to vote. They thanked voters who were on their way out.
+++++

The Indefatigable Anil Netto reports:

11.30am from Azmin Ali

UMNO and the police are attempting to prevent the Chinese and Indian voters from coming out to vote.

11.00am

RPK’s wife, Marina, reported that Anwar Ibrahim has just arrived at the Tenggiri polling station and is now inside casting his vote. It is not known yet who he is voting for but RPK”s wife said she suspects Anwar could be voting for the AKIM candidate.

10.30am

Some PKR ‘pondok panas’ were abandoned. It is reported that BN may have bought off some party workers so that there would be no PKR pondok panas to service the voters.

The Bloggers from Kuala Lumpur, who have been campaigning and reporting on ceramahs in Permatang Pauh since the weekend, are now on the ground visiting the polling stations and sending back point to point updates to RPK, Haris and Bernard. RPK’s wife is also making her rounds of the polling stations in a last-ditch attempt to woo the voters.(I hear that she is going around with "Undi RPK"!!!!! I will have a word with her when she brings us our lunch.)

Just in from Tulang Besi of Malaysian Waves: (thanks buddy)

Below are some information that I got from my contacts in Permatang Pauh. Notice I did not write much about Permatang Pauh. I was following closely thru a few contacts and I didn't want to accidentally expose some vital information to the enemy.

1.0 It seems UMNO had used the "Sumpah Saiful" issue too early.(flogged it to death more likely, like as though it is the mother of all issues....hoping to gain grounds hoisting the faggot) It gave a lot of time for Pakatan Rakyat to neutralize the effects of the issue. The ultimate blow to BN's nose is when the Imam who oversaw the "Sumpah" ceremony of Saiful went public and told that he was used by UMNO to do the Sumpah.

2.0 In the first week of the campaign, we were very worried about the "Sumpah Saiful" ammunition by UMNO. To compound the problem is Anwar Ibrahim's reluctance to conduct the same "Sumpah Ceremony" because he is adhering to Islamic Fatwa from Islamic scholars on the issue. But the Ramlang Ponrigi expose has effectively neutralized the issue.

3.0 Malaysiakini reports "Malays split 60-30 on Saiful's confession" indicates that Malays believing in the UMNO's deception is limited to hard-core UMNO supporters only. Pity for BN because apparently they are banking on this one "silver bullet" and it missed.

4.0 UMNO has been using highly racial and religously sensitive issues against Anwar Ibrahim hoping that the Majority Malay electorate will be swayed. Apparently, they have given up on the non Malay votes and consider the Non malay votes as goners.

5.0 PAS is pulling no stop in helping Anwar Ibrahim reelected as MP for Permatang Pauh. The BN candidate tried to approach Ustaz Hamdan Abdul Rahman hoping to sway him into weakening the PAS election machinery, but Ustaz Hamdan turned him down flat. So, that avenue had failed

That's all I am at liberty to say. All we can do now is pray and get people to come out to vote in large numbers.

May Allah SWT grant us victory.

1:05pm

ANWAR IBRAHIM IS IN PARLIAMENT BUT THEY MAY NOT WANT HIM TO THROW EMBARRASS THE AUTHOR(S) AT THE BUDGET SESSION.....RASHID IS IN HIDING AND THE SPEAKERS ARE DECIDING TO STAY OR CHABOT.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PEOPLE OF PERMATANG PAUH.
WE WAIT FOR THE MARGIN OF WIN.

From People's Parliament

1.58pm : Din Merican reporting from Bukit Berapit

The PKR motorcycle squad of about 100 bikers and a lorry have been deployed to ferry voters to raise the voter turnout in the Malay areas.

1.17pm : Reporting from Din Merican

Average voter turn out throughout the polling stations at this time is 53% and rising.

There is a sudden rush by voters in the Malay areas.

2.21pm : Din Merican reporting

Police creating difficulties for voters to get to polling stations by creating traffic congestions on the roads and on the Penang Bridge.

With a little over two hours to the end of polling in P.44 Permatang Pauh, the police seem to be doing a wonderful job ensuring a poor voter turnout.

Vige and his buddy Balraj are residents of Penang State. Vige came in morning to say Hi and stayed on to volunteer to go down to the stations to bring us the latest from the polling stations.
Gus Gan part of the KL Blogger team, spends more time thrawling cyberspace and only pretends to manage his watering hole the Wharf just to keep on eye on some regular "fishermen" who visit him sans baits and hook.

12.12pm : Wharf’s Gus and locals Viveg & Balraj have hit the streets and will be reporting back with the latest happenings.

12.43pm : Viveg & Balraj reporting from the Jalan Baru polling centre

Voter turn out here was reported to be about 60% up to the time of reporting.

Altantuya was at the centre early this morninng and to his dismay, found very few BN supporters present. Even at the time of reporting, there were very few BN supporters present as compared to PR supporters.

An interesting distraction to the objective at hand.

An ambulance coincidentally broke down in front of this polling centre. PR supporters were quick to carry a coffin bearing the words ‘Kuburkan BN’ written on it to the ambulance for transportation to the nearest cemetary.

(12.51pm : Just had word from YB Ronnie Liu that victory for DSAI is in hand. Unofficial so let’s not sit on our laurels just yet. And let’s not forget that it’s not just victory that’s needed but an increased majority as well.)

1.07pm : Viveg & Balraj reporting from Seberang Jaya

This is Arif Shah territory.
Although sunny earlier, it is now raining quite heavily.
Voter turn out has been low. Estimated at 40% at the time of reporting.
Situation there has been calm.
Altantuya showed up earlier together with Shahrizat and Hilmi.
Lim Guan Eng was also there

3:25 HANTU WARNS OF POSSIBLE 9000 VOTES COMING IN FROM KL. PKR GHOST BUSTERS MUST BE EXTRA VIGILANT....WATCH AIR-DROPS.

PEOPLE ON THE GROUND: WE HAVE NEWS THAT PAK LAH HAS LEFT FOR THE AIRPORT AND HAS CONCEDED DEFEAT? GOOD PEOPLE, GIVE US WHATEVER YOU KNOW. SOMEBODY OUT THERE WITH THE NECESSARY RESOURCES.

IS HE SCHEDULED FOR ANY OVERSEA'S TRIP?

+++++

3:45PM: From Yayasan Aman.....the polling station is deluged by waves of voters...all waving at PKR supporters at the entrance.

+++++

HANTU thinks that the expected landslide Anwar victory would speed up Pak Lah handing over the primiership to Mr & Mrs Najib who afterwhich will be on record in the Guiness Book of Records as the first couple with the shortest reign as joint-premier.

6.00PM
LILLIAN REPORTS FROM SEBRANG PRAI POLICE STATION:

Lillian reported that as she spoke to me, she was staring directly at an angry-looking FRU water cannon.

She could also see the three ‘pengundi hantu’ buses, now empty, in the police compound.(good girl, now don't you strike at any cops....we know you are capable of this when bullies show themselves.....we need you and Quennie to be back her to pop the champagne tonight)

Many PKR supporters have converged on the station and are becoming increasingly patient.

YB Ronnie Liu is in the station. It is rumoured that YB Karpal Singh is also in there.

Gobalakrishnan, who is reported to have been beaten up by police, together with hiis sons, and then arrested, is also reported to be held at this station.

Word is that Gobala saw police escorting one of the buses and wanted to know why they were escorting the bus into Permatang Pauh.

6.35pm : Update

    Well Unc Zorro, I hope so (that he has resigned). Good riddance.
    Also, please get him to do the next ethical thing, to resign his seat as well and have another by-election to gauge his support if he is outside PR/PKR.

    He says that he is muslim first, and second blah blah blah, i would add that he is muslim first, human second, muslim first, ethics second...

It kept me up off and on the whole night and my brain is still buzzing with that figure right now. Hope that it will come true! As for that Zulkifli fellow, better off if he is out of PR. Looks like 'big blubber' tried to throw a spanner in the works for ZN. Could be a blessing for PKR though. But that's another story, eh bro.

    Stay safe, OK and have a chilled one to keep the updates coming.

  14. Today at 12pm, when I surf TheStar website, I read the news about a man in PKR shirt was arrested in Pematang Pauh for attacking an elderly women who try to cast her vote. The news was highlighted in yellow “latest” so it must be on the spot latest news.

    My first thought was it was outrages made up story from the TheStar so I ignored it. When I tried to search for the same news an hour later, it was no where to be found.

    I bet those stupid editors of TheStar notice that not even a 5years old will believe that f8cking stupid story! You a88hole Editor!

    Did anyone else read this news on TheStar Website, I’m keen to know if I got optical illusion or am I dreaming?

    Thanks for all the updates. It has kept me updated, even here in Macao. Have been following the news all day long.

    And Uncle and all the fishermen comrades - you guys deserve a good rest after all these, we need you well rested for more fights to come.

    I trust that with Anwar in Parliament, they will do all they can to suspend him, to disallow him from doing his duty.

    It is only to be expected. I pray and hope that Anwar will not wrong foot himself and get him suspended and thrown out of the house.

    Oh, by the way, beer is cheap in Macao and there is a FISHERMEN's Wharf just 10 minutes walk from where I am now.....:-)

    I read, the MP and his two sons who acted as Ghostbusters were given a rough treatment by the police, where was that bastard botak? I will like to stuff his blooming mouth with saiful's shit.

  29. If the incoming traffic is originating from only a handful of computers, then it could be a Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack.

    However, it could also be innocuous. The sites could just be overwhelmed by its popularity, since people now no longer trust MSM and instead head for these sources.

    Only the sysadmins from the 2 sites can tell us.

  34. Hi Zorro Sir,

    One of your students from La Salle Sentul (1963-I971). I am very disappointed in your inability to predict the winning margin of our beloved Sdr Anwar. But just like you, I too am still hopefull that he will extend the lead my at 21,000. So till hoping for this miracle gift from the people of Permatang Pauh to send the message in no uncertain terms that the rakyat means change and refuse to be taken for a ride anymore.

    Hats of for you, Sdr Harris, YM Raja Petra and the rest of the beloved bloggers for your commendable and unwavering support for change.

    Regards

    Sam

  35. Hi Zorro,

    I am still disappointed by the margin of Sdr. Anwar's victory so far. How come with you, Harris and Pete's (YM. Raja Petra)active support and presence, Sdr. Anwar can only garner such a small margin. I was expecting for Sdr. Anwar to win by a margin of at least 30,000 votes. So Bernard, I suppose you have to up your strategy in the future to garner more votes.

    Regards

    Sam

  44. pliz prepare a dossier on the sore losers AMNO has put its faith on like Ezam, Nalla, Mongolia, KJ and other jokers. They need to know their place. Note that the AMNO candidate was chosen by intelligence and after that the PM and his DPM said Arif Shah was the best candidate they could obtain in the whole of Malaysia.

  47. When Anwar do become the PM, what he needs to do very quickly, among a lot of other things, is to reform the gestapo police force. It is a disgrace and an embarrassment in this day and age to have them employing thuggery tactics and inflicting pains upon innocent citizens of this country. It really arouses anger and frustration to read about story like this. Hope that Gopalakrishnan and sons would come out of this okay.
