SUBRA. WHERE ART THOU?

HANTU was at the Royal Selangor Club long bar and was distracted by a flurry of activity. He reports: History is made today. Never before has a Prime Minister witnessed the signing of a Collective Agreement. Abdullah Badawi made a visit to the Royal Selangor Club earlier today to witness the signing of the collective agreement between the National Union of Bank Employees and Malaysian Commercial Banks Association.

He was received on arrival by RSC officials, General Manager S A Nathan and General Committee member Sam Sambhi, together with NUBE officials led by J. Solomon, their secretary general.

NUBE officials and members who welcomed the PM and attended the luncheon that followed the signing ceremony in the RSC Ballroom were seen wearing 'Sokong Pah Lah' badges. Also in attendance were MCBA officials led by CIMB Human Resources chief Hamidah Naziadin who signed on behalf of MCBA.

Human Resources Minister Dr. S Subramaniam was not present. According to Solomon, this was unremarkable because "we have always been dealing with the Prime Minister on this matter."

Solomon said the agreement which provides for a 17 per cent adjustment to salary for 25,000 union members and arrears of 34 months is the best deal the NUBE has had "in the last 10 years."

Is Subra crossing over or crossed out?

High winds would be a-blowing ominous clouds our way next week....and like ANTARES advised: fasten your seat-belts....we are approaching warp speed!
