ANTI-ISA RALLY ON......., SO MATCH POSTPONED at Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam.

For a change, there will be no match-fixing at Stadium Melawati. Instead it will be the venue of an expected 15,000 strong like-minded Malaysians who will raise their voice in unison to repeal this dastardly inhuman act called the INTERNAL SECURITY ACT, This ISA Act is one fail-safe weapon that the Government have used with abandon on any citizen that may bring to the open their misdeeds and follies. Thats you and me who want justice for all Malaysians.

Yes, I will be there with the Farmer from Bentong, the Fisherman from Taman Desa, YewTube, Bachelorboy Benny, Hawkeye (if Singapore has not detained him) and the Sinister One from Melawati. We will share the grief of the families of the 70 odd detainees still languishing in Kem Kamunting.

Malaysiakini has this report:

Two alleged Jemaah Islamiah members, who have served six years of detention under the Internal Security Act (ISA), are set to stay in their cells for another two years.

Their detention has been extended for another two years effective June 11, 2008.

Mat Sah Mohd Satray and Shamsuddin Sulaiman were first arrested under the draconian law on June 11, 2002 and received two-year extensions twice without seeing the inside of a courtroom. They received their new extension on their 6th anniversary two weeks ago.

Abolish ISA Movement (AIM) chairperson Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh told Malaysiakini today that the eight-year detention was a “gross injustice incompatible with the human rights law.”

“There is no proof of any criminal activity but they have been punished severely.

“It’s a double whammy on the person and this goes to show that the law is abusively wrong,” he said.

"Not only is it affecting their families but the effect will stay with them for a very long time.”

The Al-Qaeda-linked JI network is blamed for a series of attacks in the region including the Bali bombings in October 2002 which killed 202 people.

Norlaila Othman wife of Mat Shah Mohd Satray, said that in the last 6 years, she has tried every due process to get her husband out, to no avail.

Habeas corpus application, memorandums, seeing the appropriate minister, seeing Pak Lah, all coming to nought.

She had no choice now but to fully immerse herself in this anti-ISA campaign if she, her child and her husband were to have any hope of a normal family life together.

Her wish : release all, repeal the ISA and close Kamunting. One day, inshaallah, if we continue along this vein, this dastardly Act will be repealed and we should pressure the government into working around South Africa's Bill of Rights HERE. That should be our Vision, but Vision without ACTION is merely a dream. You can dream on but I will not. I am always a chronic optimist.I will never be a NOSTRA-DUMB-ASS! Remember Bob Marley's GET up, STAND up, for Your Rights. ALL ACTION WORDS!

In Kamunting on June 7, I held the card of detainee Abdul Hanif Mansor. Today at 8.00pm, I will have his name card pinned on my T-Shirt. That is the least I can do for him, besides the promised daily prayer for him and his family.

Steven Lee, a London-based photographer asked me if it was possible to arrange to photograph the families of detainees (minus the father). I will talk to either Norlaila or GMI President Syed Ibrahim if I can get hold of them.

If you cannot be with us tonight.....light a candle in your home for the detainees.

  3. Nostradamus Quatrains on Malaysie

In the year of the great games started by the Greeks
Hosted by the nation of heavenly emperors of times before
    In a land called Malaysie
    Great turbulence and strife engulf

A land where a Genghis Khan’s Descendant was shred to bits
Blown by the winds to the heavenly clouds
Where the accused are finally crowned
    Amid great trepidation and acrimony

Then arose among men of honor
A man of the faith of Mohammedans
Kings and Rulers let him reign
And a new nation was born

Great leaders bring forth divination and revelations
A land of many tribes divided was thus united
The color of men was blurred and lost
By great competition to give their best

Herein lies the destiny of men
Who showed the meaning of democracy and humanity
Religions and languages flourishes as times before
A land as peaceful as Shangri La

Malaysie, a stopping point of travelers must see
Back to the days of great Sultans and Rajas
Nations and men afar come to seek their wealth
Knowledge, trade and life flourishes as before

  4. Light a candle
    In supporting of ISA detainees
The draconian law for civilized society
The dark witch we don’t need

    When there is no case
ISA the easy way out for BN government
Controlling the people through act of fear
    Bullying tactics and unfair policing

    Light a candle
There is light in the dark
    Even we may not know
    What the outcome will be

    Many discontents
    Many silent cries
    Many silent prayers
    Let ISA be buried
For this law makes humans suffering
    Of no fixed time frame

    Light a candle
    On the fence
    Let others start questioning why
Let ISA be gone in our minds
We don’t need it to trouble our time
