NAH, THE SYMBOLISM OF THE WALK HAS BEEN BUGGERED!

Over a few Balvenies a hardly intoxicated chum chimed at around 3.00am, that only in Malaysia do we do things in different ways when one way is good enough. The road sign above illustrates this! So whats up?
I read this in Rocky's just a while ago:

the walk is ON

Walking the Talk. The organisers of the Walk for Media Freedom never called off the walk. The only thing we changed is the starting point for that walk.

Originally, we had asked you to begin your walk from the big flagpole in Dataran Merdeka. From the start, we had said there would be no assembly.

After consultation with the cops, the organisers agreed that those who wish to walk can start from anywhere (but the flagpole). Meaning, you can start your walk to the NPC from wherever you park your vehicle or from the nearest LRT/bus station. If you are coming to the National Press Club by cab, tell the taxi driver to drop you off 500 m or 1km away so you can walk the rest of the way to the clubhouse.

There are limited parking lots at the NPC so we advise you to park your car at the underground car park at Dataran or at Padang Merbok.

At 5:20 Haris Ibrahim reassured me by sms: The walk for media freedom is ON. Only change:participants can walk from any direction for any distance towards the NPC from 9.30am to 10.15. wear yellow or carry mini Malaysian Flag.

The road-sign above applies. NO?

THE PENGUINS WALKED

BERSIH WALKED

HINDRAF WALKED

HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS (minus Bar Council President) WALKED

THE ROSES KIDS WALKED

BUT THE WALK FOR MEDIA FREEDOM WILL HAVE A SLIGHT(?) SPIN!

Somebody tell me honestly. Have we been cowed or bull(dozed)? Two different words but same connotation (like the road sign.)

BUT I WILL BEGIN MY WALK FROM THE FLAG POLE, AFTER I SAY A SILENT PRAYER FOR MY MEDIA FRIENDS.

  1. obtruding into William Grant's sacred liquid brown steroid is an overt felony against the art of science and humanity as a whole! Maybe next time I can help to dissipate timely, coherent and the correct, correct, correct actual communicative signals for your fence sitting directionless horde of come and go still searching for answers must walk 2moro children of Kuala Lumpur. Your cart before the horse bunch has erred , yet again. As I have mentioned casually a few times off and on... you kind people should at least pay more attention to form over substance and not VV. ( its always great to learn from dear old teacher )

  3. Imagine the nation's biggest flagpole
Cannot be a happy children's maypole
To dance happily around the pole
To gather quietly beneath the pole

  4. "BUT I WILL BEGIN MY WALK FROM THE FLAG POLE, AFTER I SAY A SILENT PRAYER FOR MY MEDIA FRIENDS."

And may our Lord of heaven hear your prayer for the cowed and tamed media 'friends.'

Friends tell you the truth... no matter what. I am not sure whether they are your friends of not!

We accused often enough the MSM like to "spin" stories to the Establishment's afvour.
The Blogers also are guilty in this instance trying to spin "The walk is on" when officially the Organisers had announced (May 30 about 3.15pm if I am not mistaken),so what the B**** H*** certain Bloggers spent so much time contradicting each other in anexercise that seems like a Tome n Jerry a show? -- Desi
