The PM got a report from Bukit Aman and he became agitated and volunteered measures.....like a more visible police presence.....CCTVs in high-density areas......district police chiefs to hold regular meetings with residents.....etc...etc....etc....(some other miracle proposals that we are quite tired of hearing). And what has Lee Lam Tai vice-president, Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) and former member of the Royal Commission on the Police Force has to say:
'Quite a number of these measures have been proposed before, but it’s better late than never. We hope that these measures are implemented as soon as possible.'
And what has Bakri Musa to add:
'To me the greatest threat to national security is not those sexual scandals that were exposed rather those that are still secret. They would then be a much more formidable weapon.'
Wastage of public funds and breaking the law are as bad as being caught in bed with a woman other than your wife.
What about the Selangor Economic Development Corporation (PKNS) which admitted in open court that it cut hills and destroyed greenery with impunity? It paid a fine of RM330,000 but what about the directors and the general manager?
They are all sitting on their high horses pretending that nothing had ever happened. Its chairman, despite all the complaints and the rebuke by the Prime Minister, had the audacity to tell Malaysians: “Semuanya Ok!”
What about Datuk Zakaria Md Deros? Let’s not fault the Datin for applying for the land to build the palace in Port Klang. Anyone can apply for state land, but what about the members of the State Executive Council who approved the alienation of the land way below market prices?
What about the president of the Klang Municipal Council who did nothing as the structure came up without approval? Did anyone have any honour or morals or for that matter, decency, to stand up and say: Yes, I erred. I apologise and I resign?
No. They all played the game of passing the buck, which has become the national pastime of our politicians. To them, it is not their fault but someone else’s fault.
What about Zakaria himself? His answer: The people still support me. How did he come to that conclusion? Did he enlist the services of Gallup or AC Nielsen? No. He happens to be the uncrowned king of Klang and he’s untouchable as far as Mr Semuanya Ok is concerned. No shame. No morals, no ethics. Period.
Going by Chua’s standards, the General Manager of the Port Klang Authority would have been an ex-civil servant six months ago.
From Day One, the plan to build a free trade zone a’la Jebel Ali in
Similarly, those responsible for the diversion of Telekom
Datuk Amir Sulaiman, Former Police Management Director: The Prime Minister was right to release the crime index as it shows that the government is indeed being transparent. The figures merely indicate that we all have to work together to tackle the problem.
Abdul Latif Mohd Som, Chairman, Penang Taman Tun Dr Ismail Residents Association: The Prime Minister was right in giving the bare facts. It is time for the public to discard the 'tidak apa' attitude and join the police in fighting crime.
HEY PEOPLE, THEY ARE NOW BLAMING US FOR NOT CO-OPERATING AND THAT IS WHY CRIME IS ON THE UPTREND.....SOUNDS FAMILIAR....THE BUCK DOES NOT STOP THERE.....IT IS THROWN BACK AT YOU PEOPLE. YOU UNGRATEFUL MALAYSIANS.
OK IF YOU A-SMOOCHES WANT TO KNOW THE REASON WHY WE THINK 40 TIMES BEFORE WE COOPERATE WITH YOU.....IT IS BECAUSE WE DO NOT TRUST THE POLICE. IMPLEMENT THE IPCMC. AND FOR GOOD MEASURE GO AFTER THE ABOVE CASES HIGHLIGHTED BY NADES, THEN MAYBE WE MAY TRUST YOU........AND HOW ABOUT INVESTIGATING THE MOLEST CASE BROUGHT AGAINST THE 70 YEAR OLD UNCLE OF MB OF SELANGOR BY A 45 YEAR OLD LADY IN TG KARANG. LOST THE REPORT? I CAN MAKE A COPY FOR YOU. AND WHAT IS THE LATEST ABOUT NURIN'S MURDER? DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING AFTER US WITH YOUR WATER CANONS WHEN WE WALK IN PEACE FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE. USE YOUR WATER CANNONS AND TEAR GAS TO FLUSH OUT THE IKAN (scavenger fish) BEDUKANG SWIMMING SO FREELY IN OUR "POLLUTED" WATERS. ABOVE ALL PROVE TO US THAT YOU DESERVE OUR COOPERATION.
It is sad that tax-paying middle class live in constant fear of crime. Bullying by road bullies, thugs, urban bandits and marauding car-jackers. These hooligans and criminals are moving around freely. Tax-payers are harrassed at road blocks - makes one fear going out to have a couple of drinks. By all means stop reckless drivers. Have checks to catch bad guys. But stop scaring the good folks. Send cops out on sting operations to nab snatch thieves and road bullies. Put fear into the bad guys. The good guys should have an environment of freedom of movement, and able to enjoy living and mixing freely in OUR cities.
ReplyDeleteclap clap clap Zorro! Well said!
ReplyDeleteNow rocky bru just reported a missing girl (posted by noraini samad) Nini who is 5 yrs old in PJ Tmn Dato Harun (i dunnowhere that is)
My personal experience with the police is they took fr me as much as the burglars did (they entered my house without permission when the burglary was reported by neigjbours, & as we were out), took away "evidence" only for me never to find them again!!
When I got to the police station they told me they can't do anything anyway because too many burglaries in PJ lah!!
what a bunch of idiots we have to "ensure our safety"
I pray hard for Nini to be found!

ReplyDeletebut we are sure one will hit , soon

solving crimes? its must be a terrible joke. who cares about that. CCTV? contract not plum enough and this explains the reason after numerous talks, it is still in talking stage.
ReplyDeleteaha, how about renting helicopters to the cops. 31 in total and its gonna yield fat RM12 billion to web power over a period of 31 years or a Uh "measly RM400 million a year". who is this smartie fella behind web power? none other than a member of Police Force Commission which decides promotions, pensions etc. now, thats real money talk. for good measure, the top cop, IGP has bypassed all the normal protocols in supporting this fat contract and without going thru normal tenders. not surprising, deputy minister by the name of foo ah kiuw doesnt even know the facts when grilled in parliament.
now, dont stop yet. web power wants more contracts. how about e-police force contract and i am sure it will run into billions coz these days the appetite is getting bigger.
by the way, whats the sleepy PM gonna say?
thanks teresa kok, the sassy MP for the expose.

ReplyDeleteAnother of their all too well known ‘scripted to feel good’ lies for PR purposes for the coming GE?
These are very good cases of morons embellishing their incompetence with lies so that they can hold on to their position they don’t deserve to be in.
After all these years and they are telling the public how to now …. LoL
Hope public are smart enough not to fall into their vicious cycles of moronic guidelines – guidelines that leads you nowhere but the abyss of cesspool.
The public should realize by now why the country is in this ghastly state it is in right now
and WHO ARE THE ONE WHO LEADS.
These are the so call malays pride - umno version..... LoL
.
Support Umno and Barisan for a crime-free society. He he he. Support Umno and Barisan to get rid of constipation. He he he.
ReplyDeleteis all tv3 and msm fault, if they only conduct poll for zakaria case as what they did for csl case, sure that zakaria cannot escape ...
ReplyDeletenext time whenever scandal surfaces, tv3 and msm should start a poll ...
How can TV3 broadcast footage (distribution or simply promotion) from an illegal porn dvd (on the 12midnight news on 01/01/08)and get away with it, while hawkers and 18yr old unemployed kids are being charged and jailed? The cops can't touch them, ya? Stop bullying the common folks. Clean out the s**t at the top and the rest of our country will become cleansed too.
ReplyDeleteHi 1st anon,
ReplyDeleteCrime cuts across all spectrum of society not only the tax paying middle class.
The problem is not with the inadequate existing facilities but the people who are given the responsibilities inability to make full use of them. We have high profile cases being thrown out because of bad police work or sub par preparation of the AG chambers. Criminals are having a field day for they know that the enforcement agencies can't touch them. Maybe the enforcement agencies should look into their training programmes to ensure that the people who graduated from them are dedicated and knowledgable. Get your enforcement agencies backyard cleaned up and the crime rates will fall accordingly.
