This has been the scenario for this past year.
I received this from my friend Tengku Nazaruddin with this message:
"I like this poem and thought should share with those who love peace."
So we see others' faults through the eyes of You.
Teach us to judge not with hasty tongue,
Neither the adult ... nor the young.
Give us patience and grace to endure
And a stronger faith so we feel secure.
Instead of remembering, help us forget
The irritations that caused us to fret.
Freely forgiving for some offense
And finding each day a rich recompense.
In offering a friendly, helping hand
And trying in all ways to understand;
That all of us whoever we are ...
Are trying to reach an unreachable star.
For the great and small ... the good and bad,
The young and old ... the sad and glad
Are asking today; Is life worth living?
The answer is only in, loving and giving.
For only Love can make man kind
And Kindness of Heart brings Peace of Mind.
By giving love, we can start this year
To lift the clouds of hate and fear.

Yes sir I also hope that 2008 will be a good year. However it looks like a worldwide trend that "that lovin feelin" is getting pretty scarce. Still there is hope where folks like you and your buddies stand up and fight the injustices. May you and your family have a Wonderful 2008. Also a Happy belated birthday!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Zorro.
ReplyDeleteBelated 68th Birthday Greetings to you.
May 2008, be a healthier, freer, fairer, more democratic, happier, friendlier, non-racial, and truly a leap year ahead of 2007.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
A toast to your good health, sir. Happy 2008!

ReplyDeletehappy new year Uncle B. may you and Mrs Khoo and Mrs zorro will have a prosperous and blessed 2008.
Its a nice video & gentle poem nevertheless . tho a bit too kind & a little soft and off-dimension when dealing with the harder real issues at hand , in our humble opinion.
ReplyDeleteHere we would like to say our iconalistic year long wannabe military warfare ( zorroic )against great odds should now be even more heightened in view of the apparent peace falsely embodied in this irrelevent natural pseudo red herring festive period.
But Happy New Year ! and it was a great pleasure o have met , chat and drink with you & co ( a little too short too noisy ) but it was enlightening ...and fun...
cheers !
Team BSG....Tony...yes a "soft" unfamiliar approach. Do excuse me, under the hard exterior resides a "gentle" molecue. Tis in keeping with the season. I abandoned an intended sledgehammer approach but the molecue too over.
ReplyDeleteKaptain Karim (Stu) thanks for dropping by....have read your post in Capt. Yusof's.
Desi.....you are in trouble!!!! I was not invited to the Seremban conspirators conclave that included the two captains.
Jasgill: Thanks and similar good wishes go your way. We will continue. I will definitely. I can recall what Edward Abbey (1927-1989) said: A patriot must always defend his country against his government.
Danny/Thinking: Thanks for the support of this blog. I wish you the best 2008 has yet to offer.
happy new year zorro.
ReplyDeleteMy dear B... Hoping that you have a great '08... keep up fighting the good fight, and you know that your's truly will be there, albeit virtually most times, by your side...
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'll be dropping in one of these Wednesdays or Fridays to you know where... unless there's another venue of choice...
In the meantime, hope you don't mind this little bit of self-promo: I've started a new online poll to see what are the 3 things you'd like most to happen in '08. Check it out either on myAsylum, or at Vizu.com...
Happy New Year to all... and PEACE!

ReplyDeleteJAMAL - the conspiratorial conclave in u-no-where....mostly Tuesday and Friday. Missing you. Yes I will participate in the poll, like I always do in your asylum.
Thank Zorro for the comment.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and family!
May you and your loved ones be blessed with good health and good tidings!
Dear Zorro,
ReplyDeleteI wish you and family a very blessed New Year, filled with Joy and Great Health. 2008 will be a very successful year for all of us and I thank you for inspiring us to demand back our freedom and dignity that was being robbed away from us. We shall send them evils back to Hell where they belonged. Cheers to you my brother.
Happy New Year, zorro.
ReplyDeleteMay God prosper thy way all the days of your life.

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Zorro and to all who visit this blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that for 2008 some of us at least take a cue from this old song...
Think of your fellow man
Lend him a helping hand
Put a little love in your heart
You see it's getting late
Oh please don't hesitate
Put a little love in your heart
And the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and see
Another day goes by
And still the children cry
Put a little love in you heart
If you want the world to know
We won't let hatred grow
Put a little love in your heart
And the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and see
Wait and see
Take a good look around
And if you're lookin' down
Put a little love in your heart
I hope when you decide
Kindness will be your guide
Put a little love in your heart
And the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me
You just wait and see
Put a little love in your heart
Put a little love in your heart
Put a little love in your heart
Put a little love in your heart
Put a little love in -
Put a little love in your heart...
cheers to all :-)
