THE CANDLE BURNETH (FOR THE TRUTH).

Former Lord President Tun Suffian said: “When I am asked what I thought, my usual reply is that I wouldn’t like to be tried by today’s judges, if I am innocent.

In my posting of 29th September 2007, in reference to the darkened corridors of power I quoted Raja Petra of Malaysia Today:

In Malaysia, if you were to squeal on those from amongst you who are corrupt, you will suffer retribution. Now do you know why it is so hard to pin down those police officers who murdered Altantuyu? Many know what happened but not many dare come forward to reveal what happened. To do so would be detrimental to one’s health.

Take the case of Nordin bin Ahmad, a police officer. He investigated the underworld bosses and helped build up the case against them. He squealed on the dirty cops. And he was made to regret that. They used the ACA to kidnap his wife and children on 23 September 2007 with a warning that they will be released only if he presents himself at the ACA office and changes his testimony implicating the underworld bosses. Both Nordin Ahmad and his wife, Kalsom Mat Nor, have made police reports on the matter.

Resulting from which I dedicated a lone candle to Chief Inspector Ahmad Nordin.

TODAY WE LIGHT ANOTHER THREE CANDLES FOR:

ASP Hong Ken Hock from Bukit Aman's Commercial Crime Investigation Department's Operations/Technical Assistance Division.
DSP Baharin Mohd. Rose, Public Safety and Order Division, Internal Security Ministry, Putra Jaya.
Lance Corporal Wong Boo Hai of Kluang CID.

THESE CANDLES WILL CONTINUE TO LEND THEIR FLICKERING LIGHT IN THIS SILENT VIGIL BECAUSE THESE FOUR ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. WHILST WE HOPE AND PRAY FOR THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES LET'S ALSO REFLECT ON THE WORDS OF TUN SUFFIAN.

“When I am asked what I thought, my usual reply is that I wouldn’t like to be tried by today’s judges, if I am innocent.”

  1. Well at least there appears to be at least one honourable judge left, Mr. Justice Hishamudin.

The very same Bad-rude-din who insulted all the disabled by his comments in parliament, also expressed his dislike for justice, as can be seen below (reproduced from Lim Kit Siang's blog)

On Thursday, the Barisan Nasional MP for Jerai, Datuk Badruddin Amiruldin openly attacked Justice Mohd Hishamudin Mohd Yunus from the floor of Parliament during his speech on the 2008 Budget, denouncing Hishamuddin as a “problem judge” for his decision on the Malik Hussein case."

This further shows BN Jerai is an ignorant, uncouth and dishonourable MP.

  4. cops against cops. minister against police honcho. defacto minister of law declared that majority rules absolutely and minorities have no say.
rule of law? well, its put in the backburner now. and for the independent judges, they are the minority and will suffer the same fate as those who dont toe the line of the majority. there will be no law except that of the majority.
just thinking how to disseminate this arrogant behaviour of loud-mouth defacto law minister and his gang of loudish MPs including that jerai fella to the masses. any suggestions or takers?

  5. these are troubling times because we seem to be going backwards.
you don't like a judge's decision, you deride him...

that's the problemwhen we have a very weak and inefffective PM.

i wear a black armband everyday.
    i wear something black everyday.
i am mourning for the loss of many many decent things in the beloved country of ours!

and, here, let me light the candles....

    "i close my eyes
so that when i open them

    i can see the light
    of decency
    of truth
    of justice

i have to close my eyes again.."

  6. Witchy, that was moving. Have decided to include your piece in my next posting later today where I will FISK on Nazri's NST interview.

Yes, the ineffectiveness of the leader reminds me of the allegory of the rotting head of a fish....the infection is rapid though...
