YES, THANKS A MILLION TO ALL THOSE HUNDREDS WHO ENDURED THE FIVE DAYS OF ANXIETY BUT NEVER WAVERED IN THEIR QUEST TO SUPPORT NAT AND HIS FAMILY. TO THE HUNDREDS OF BLOGGERS WHO PUT UP Mob's "FREE NAT NOW" POSTER ONTO THEIR SITES AND BLOGGED ABOUT NAT, I SALUTE YOU.
It was the usual must-have mee rebus at Ruslani/Maria's residence on Tuesday. However, at around 1500hrs Rocky text that Nat was at Bukit Perdana and that the remand period would end at 4.30pm. Four of us, A Voice, Shanghai Fish, Old Blue Eyes and I made our way to BP where a group of PKR people had gathered. At 4.45pm there was still no sign of Nat walking out. At five minutes past the hour, Li Tsin text read...."Statements done, Nat coming out now". A cheer followed and even from that distance we could feel Nat's inimitable SMILE. As he walked towards us the smile was translated into a raised two-fisted salute that said: "Free At Last. Free At Last".
It was his moment. He and his lawyer Siva made brief statements and cameras and TV crew ringed the freed man. When cameras stopped clicking Nat ran across to us and yelled "HIDUP BLOGGERS." We will not attempt to tell Nat's story here. You will learn about the episode when Nat is fully rested.
Signing off with "THANKS A MILLION" to those who walked with Nat.

(NAT YOU LOOK GOOD WITH THAT SOFT FIVE DAY STUBBLE.....LET HIM KEEP THAT WILL YA LI TSIN?....WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU OVER A PINT OR TWO.)
Hidup bloggers!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have been there to capture the moment. Thanks big bro, for driving those two lying, car-less bloggers to the venue. Actually, it was Shar who said that he wanted to be there and make sure they let Nat out. If the wi-fi at Maria's worked, I would have been able to mail my work from there and drive the bloggers to Bt Perdana. I heard A Voice was busy trying NOT to be photographed. It was very heartening to read his posting, too - the Umno man who was there for Nat in the name of blogger solidarity despite the fact that Nat is PKR and works for Anwar Ibrahim.
Well .. that's politics.
Let's get Nat to NPC for a talk, shall we?
Capital idea Rocky....will talk to him about this tonight.
ReplyDeleteGreat theory, Rocky.
ReplyDeleteAs if I had the power to get Nat released or somehow release a lot of positive energy within the compound of the CCID building so that the cops had no choice but to free Nat.
Dodging photos with you know who required some finesse on oneself coz A Voice was too short for me to hide behind.
And the "Hidup Bloggers" moment by Nat was priceless.
