DON'T DESECRATE OUR RUKUNEGARA

ONE DOWN BUT ONE ALLOWED TO STAND AS TESTIMONY THAT GOD'S HOUSE IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS AN ILL-GOTTEN MANSION.
LET'S TAKE SOME TIME TO REFLECT ON OUR RUKUNEGARA.

Rukunegara

Malaysia’s national ideology, the Rukunegara was formulated with the purpose to serve as a guideline in the country’s nation-building efforts. The Rukunegara was proclaimed on August 31, 1970 by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong IV.

The pledge of the Rukunegara is as follows:

“Our Nation, Malaysia is dedicated to: Achieving a greater unity for all her people; maintaining a democratic way of life; creating a just society in which the wealth of the nation shall be equitably distributed; ensuring a liberal approach to her rich and diverse cultural tradition, and building a progressive society which shall be oriented to modern science and technology.

We, the people of Malaysia, pledge our united efforts to attain these ends, guided by these principles:

• Belief in God
• Loyalty to King and Country
• Upholding the Constitution
• Sovereignty of the Law, and
• Good Behaviour and Morality”

  1. yeah... i am painfully aware of this... my pastor has been asking us to pray and pray and pray... faith wise... i really hope God will do something... but the question is when?

  2. Zewt, it is always easy to say pray for this pray for that. We cant be depending on God to intervene whenever we are in crisis. WE need to do something ourselves...each of us, according to our capabilities, no matter how insignificant...but we JUST GOT TO DO SOMETHING...within the premise of the law.

  3. ppl used to point fingers back at us , saying ' u get the govt u deserve since u voted for them'

but seriously, did we get the govt we voted for? with phantom voters, fake postal votes, corrupted EC.. did we really get wht we deserve?

unfair to blame us malaysians. we didnt get the govt we voted for. but wht do we do?

pray? forget it, the Palestinians hv been praying for decades, so are the somali's , ugandan's and ethiopians.

    wht do we do?

  4. Zorro,

I totally agree. Like in the case of Esther, who out of fear, at first she didn't want to ask the king to help her people. She was reminded by her uncle that,"Who knows at such a time like this, you are in this position to help?"

We must still pray but yet, we have the faculty to act when we see injustice. Action complements our faith and our faith strengthens our resolution to do that which is right.

  6. Steve, yes we deserve the govt. we voted for...but in 2004 we honestly thought that this Mr. Clean was what we thought he was. He changed. But don't we know better come the next GE.

Anon, of course we need to pray about it....prayer to give us the sustenance we direly need whilst also applying by action, what we must do ultimately.....like voting correctly for CHANGE.

Thanks for the visit Lulu....this guy still rankles me endlessly, the babarity, the blatantness and still not disciplined and chastised. When do we get some more cookies? Join us for mee rebus Tuesdays.

  10. "..creating a just society in which the wealth of the nation shall be equitably distributed;.."

Yeah right. Get rid of nepotism and "you scratch my back, I scratch yours". (It has probably come to a shameless "I will scratch your back if you scratch my back and balls.")
Promote people in the services who deserve it not because a certain quota has to be reached. Stop the quota system in higher institutions of learning. Feed everyone who is in need. Spoon-feeding some, while allowing some others to starve - that is not equitable.

In the mean time, what can I do from abroad? Postal vote? How?
Ever tried to contact your government overseas? Different soil, same attitude. *sigh*
(I hope this is rare and it is just my personal experience).

  11. JT, like all things in the Malaysian Government its all words and hot air.You go visit all the Government Departments and you can see all the cosmetic dressings announcing and swearing their Code of Conduct, Vision, Mission and (some depts. are brazen enough to include this) - Value Statement in the reception area for visitors to see and hopefully believe that they are doing what they say they are doing. Its all a circus, dog and pony show.

  12. Read the Malaysiakini coverage that the authorities are to compensate the demolished chapel but elsewhere though not afffirmitive.

My inference is that if the land really belongs to the natives as claimed then the act is non other than another religious persecution.

Hats off to Taiko Zorro. Thanks. I enjoy your posts every now and then.

  13. Hallelujah, praise the lord that you are moved by such an incident. I was beginning to think that it does not matter anymore.
My church had kept the main door closed for fear of persecution from the local authorities. It took about 1 year before we dared to put up a small signboard 1'x 2'to let believers know we are open for business.
We had to put purpose of building as "administration center" to gain permit from local authorities to construct our building. I asked my pastor why, and his reply was we have to be wise to avoid trouble?
Well, prayers has sustained us thus far. We have received some unwelcomed visits but had refused entry each time to avoid further persecution. Are we equal? No, we know more and humble. Not once did we rebuke the authorities. We are meek, older and more experience. Meekness is the absence of the spirit of retaliation. On that note I want to encourage all believers to continue to rely on God and pray , for vengence belongs to God. The meek shall inherit the earth.

  14. Zorro, what happened to the church is a day of mourning for Malaysians. We should be ashamed that in this day and age, we have stone age barbarians who cannot respect the faith and beliefs of others.

What they have done is an act of shameful desecration, an act of abomination to God. The whole cowardly lot who were responsible for the action will surely end in hell where they deserve to be.

  15. Maybe, we can all come together, and help rebuild this building...albeit for a day...we will all be making a very VERY strong statement.....

    anyone?

  22. This is inevitable. Christians are to expect persecution.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I were at an Orang Asli settlement church. We were there with a few other Christians from KL. On the way to the settlement, we got lost and ended up at another settlement. We decided to ask for direction from two guys in a lorry. When we received the direction, we drove on to the our destination. What we did not realise was that the lorry followed us to the church. The two kelantanese men in the lorry proceeded to question our intentions. They becamse quite rough, even though we were very gentle and polite with them. They kept threatening to get the police involved. To this we said, they may do what they want to do, because as far as we are concern, we have nothing to hide.

The police did come and questioned the pastors. The kelantanese men alleged that we were out to convert muslim to christians (no we were at an orang alsi church worshipping with the people there).

Thank God, the police left after awhile when they saw what we were really doing.

I have other things to say also. Things the orang asli told me. So Zorro, if you would like to know --- u can give me a shoutout and i will send u a private message

There once was a crooked man
    He walked a crooked mile
    He found a crooked sixpense

He returned to his crooked house
Greeted by his wife in a golden blouse

His wife excitedly told how A-men
She had met an ol' lamp salesman
Who traded her a new lamp for olde
She then rubbed on the nu'e lamp
    And appeared a smilin' genie

  28. I spoke to the Pastor of Kg. Jais, Mosses Soo. The govt. offered to rebuilt a 'community hall' in place of the church, where everyone can use. He politely rejected and will rebuild another church nearby with his own funds
