SOME MALAYSIANS ARE CHEAPSKATES?

REMBAU, Tuesday: Road-users risked life and limb as they scampered all over to collect loose change strewn along the expressway after a four-wheel-drive vehicle, which was transporting about RM70,000 in coins, overturned near here today.

The incident occurred around 3pm at KM244 of the North-South Expressway and it was learnt that the money, all in coins, was in a large metal container in the vehicle.

Road-users, including women, totally ignored the police and other officials as they ran all over the expressway to pick up the coins.

They were seen frantically picking 50, 20 and 10-sen coins and putting them into plastic bags, pockets and even their helmets.

Some were also seen sitting along the roadside and picking the coins, oblivious of the crash victim who had escaped with light injuries and was just metres away.

Except for some responsible PLUS employees, it was grab, grab and grab whatever you can!

Such was their behavior and throwing caution to the wind.

Can we blame them for taking what is not theirs?

They were merely doing what comes naturally? Monkeys see, monkeys do.

If the BN can grab, why can’t the common man?

If the leaders can bail out their cronies with the rakyat’s money, what’s some coins on the road for the taking?

If the leaders can get away with a bagful of cardinal misdeeds like daylight corruption, what is wrong with collecting those coins?

If the Chief Education Officer in Johor can encourage students to skip classes to campaign in Tenang, it is ok to risk life and limb for a few dollars more.

If land belonging to the people in Sarawak can be taken away to fill Taib’s over-bloated coffers, these collectors were merely doing what their leaders have been doing for some 5 decades…..enriching themselves and their brood with what is not theirs.

Do not our religions say we should not steal?

Should not covet our neighbors goods!

Are Malaysians ill-bred?

By parents?

In our schools?

From our teachers, head teachers, and Chief Education Offiers?

Are Malaysians APING their leaders?

Do you ever wonder why dogs sniff each other’s butts?

Whether the dogs are new acquaintances or old ones, they meet up and immediately run to the rear. Most people believe this is their way of saying “hello.“ However, this belief is a myth. Dogs sniff each other’s butts for a much deeper reason.

Dogs have two anal glands in their rectums, which emit a strong scent. Dogs sniff each other’s butts in order to get a whiff of it. The aroma they smell gives them detailed information about the other dog.

The aroma emitted from a dog’s butt tells other dogs vital information about him. It tells his sex, health status and temperament. Therefore, on a first meeting, two unacquainted dogs know if they want to befriend each other or not.

So what does that mean to us?

We need to trust our dog’s instincts.

If he doesn’t like another dog, there is probably a good reason. The other dog doesn't pass the sniff test. So let nature take its course. Allow your dog to choose his own friends because in the long run he nose best.

Now I understand that the Johor Education Department chief Markom Giran and Markof Abd Mutalib's (husband to PAS candidate Normala Sudirman) Headmaster have sniffed each other deeply and their whiffs are compatible!

I pity the children in Johor. Markom was reported to have said:

"We are hired (makan gaji) by the government. So we should not go against the government. Whatever the policy is, we just follow."

He explained that a government servant is an executor of government policy and hence they should follow whatever policy is made by the government of the day.

After dinner, Muhyiddin took questions from the floor, mostly from students and professionals who expressed a desire to return to Malaysia but were concerned over the political situation, security, research funds and opportunities, education and salary.

A researcher, who has been in the United States for six years, asked whether her future husband would be able to obtain permanent resident (PR) status.

Muhyiddin acknowledged that there had been problems in the past.

However, he said the Government was now more flexible and was extending PR status to foreigners with the right qualifications. He cited the example of several foreign CEOs being accorded PR status a few weeks ago.

You said that you were Malay First and Malaysian Second. Can you elucidate, elaborate and equate your statement to 1Malaysia slogan?

Why are we overseas Malaysiabns not given our birth-right as Malaysians to vote in the General Elections?

Why is only government scholars allowed to vote from overseas?

We read that 1,806 (the latest was some two weeks ago a wireman M Krishnan aged 37 died whilst in custody at the Sentul Police station.) have since died between 2003 and last July whilst in remand cells, prisons, detention centres or whilst being questioned as witnesses. If not you, can any of your aides have available statistics to tell us how many died of ill-health, ill treatment or misadventure like suicide by self-strangulation or hanging? This information could dispel the rumors that our authorities, pledged to protect the citizens are not being protected when they are seen to behave otherwise.

Dang, there are more questions our smart overseas Malaysians could ask but I know why they did not. They obviously followed a cardinal rule learned in lawschool during cross-examination:

In a lying contest, the judges would disqualify her with “No professional liars allowed.” Dang I’m impressed how long some are able to live without a brain. Some women are so fake; they will make barbie look real!
