A TABLE OF........?

The English language has some wonderfull collective nouns for the various groups of animals and people:

We are all familiar with

a School of fish

and a Gaggle of geese.

However, less widely known is:

a Pride of lions,

a Gaggle of women a Herd of cows,

a Flock of chickens,

a Rope of onions

a Balance of Accountants

a Bevy of Alcoholics ( I honestly thought it belonged to beauties!)

a Clutch of Breasts ( respond ladies…..)

a Linkage of webmasters

a Break of Winds (fart chamber ad?)

a Murder of crows

(as well as their cousins the rooks and ravens),

an Exaltation of doves

and, presumably because they look so wise:

a Congress of owls.

Now consider a group of Baboons.

They are the loudest, most dangerous, most obnoxious, most viciously aggressive and least intelligent of all primates.

And what is the proper collective noun for a group of baboons?

Believe it or not !

a Parliament.

A PARLIAMENT OF BABOONS!

I guess that pretty much explains the things that come out from our Parliament, yah?

You just can’t make this stuff up.

But the Whistler and I made up this one after some abrasive argument over brunch…….

How about a table of misfits?

You ARE invariably the COMPANY you keep!

The Whistler wanted REJECTS instead of MISFITS.

But I said they are not rejected….a supposedly “reputable” lawyer did not reject these misfits.

The Whistler paid for brunch and fishing out something from his pocket saying,”You pick up the drinks tab and you get this piece of paper.”

The IGP recently called together former Police Chiefs and gave them these SB intelligence report for their consideration and feedback:

GE13 predictions:

No hope of gaining Penang and Kelantan from Opposition

Kedah 50/50 (first figure Pakatan)

Perak will go back ROYALLY to Pakatan

Selangor 60/40

NS 60/40

Johor – close with edge for incumbent. Jui Meng may spoil things for Pakatan.

Terengganu – no info yet.

Malacca remains BN

Pahang playing Russian roulette with Lynas.

Singapore Intelligence, says the Whistler gives Pakatan a big plus for GE13

Military Intelligence – NA as they are busy buying arms.HERE

THE MONTHLY LUNCH.

Over lunch at Kana’s, my cousin’s Wanita Umno daughter Minab, remarked that I hardly “Z” Kak Zat.

“Why should I. I want her to remain in Wanita so that at least we have a target during GE13. Then again if she remains she would be nominated as a candidate. She would probably be given the safest seat in the country, Putra Jaya. She would win but will have to “vacate” PutraJaya after GE13 but is eligible to stay in the two plots of prized lots already acquired.” Minda made a face and I asked her whether the rasam was a wee bit too masam.

I love this woman Min as my daughter. We level with each other. We pull no punches, hold back nothing that should be shared for the betterment of the country and never once did I ask her to switch camp. If she decides to I would recommend her to join the DAP to complement the four Muslims of caliber, already in DAP. By the way, I have said many times here that there are some really excellent people in UMNO. Min is one of them.

Until our next end-of-month lunch date, stay safe and keep well Min.

I WILL DISOWN MY BROTHR IF….

ever he declares that he will not protect Malaysia with his life! I am comforted by the fact that he will protect Malaysia should some cousins and nephews from across the straits or South China Sea take up arms against US. Because we were brought up right by our meter-reader Pa.

We would have left the country together with the 2 million Chinese who have emigrated since Merdeka. We could have because we had just completed our Senior Cambridge Certificate exams!

At 13 I left home to join the religious teaching order -the La Salle Christian Brothers who funded and founded schools like St Patrick’s Kulim to St Jospeh’s and St Patrick’s in Singapore and to St. Jospeh’s in Kuching. However, much later but sadly I found that the religious life inhibited my free spirit and maverick inclinations and aspirations about how I should lead my life. It was not my vocation, period. But I have always appreciated the discipline and it was for this reason that I continued in the teaching profession although the late Tan Sri Zainal, (one time father in law of the current Sultan of Selangor) Chairman of then National Electricity Board had promised my Pa a job for me in then LNN. I did not take the offer, but my brother did and retired as an employee of Tenaga.

We, my brother and I stayed on, worked, saved and sent our four children to Universities overseas despite the foreign currencies soaring every year.

There is no land fairer than my land. The only disaster we face is flood and all this is caused by some grand design to impede with smart tunnels! We are not on any fault lines and our fault is our blatant disregard for the environment.

And now comes along some lancheow bins (penis face) announcing lately that ABU means the negation of Malay political power! Dang, political power has been with the Malays since independence and ringgit trillions have taken capital flight offshore. The Chinese were said to possess the economic power but that is so because of the will to survive, duty to put food on the table, to clothe and provide education. No frills necessary! This same can be said about the not so lucky Malays and Indians! Period.

Don’t blame the Malays if political power is lost (to foreigners?). Blame UMNO!

ABU is Asalkan Bukan UMNO….nobody is shouting out ABM, Anything But Malays. I will floor the next guy who promotes ABM, because my best friends are

M A L A Y S!

I leave you here because it is not right to write when disturbed. I leave this piece by a Malay for you to ponder HERE.

DON’T BLAME THE MALAYS.

BLAME UMNO!

ABU.

STAY ON COURSE…

With ordinary talent

and

extraordinary perseverance,

all things are attainable.

THINK ABU!

the bumblebee shouldn't be able to fly,

but the bumblebee doesn't know that

so it goes on flying anyway.

WHY NAJIB WILL NOT CALL FOR GE13 THIS YEAR.

He will not because he does not have to. His term if it should end would be April of 2013. If he calls it this year, he will lose the election and the UMNO assembly will not be as kind to him as they were to Badawi. Empatise with him and you will see the wisdom of his choice. Of course over many nightly pillow talk he has been urged, “Program I pun tak habis!”
The 2M faction of course would be fuming. 2M? Yes Mukriz, for being told to just shut up and not to make a squeak except for an occasional tweet, has exhibited a total loss of appetite as the anointed of the patriarch. He is seen more in the company of his brother Mok than the Moo mob. That leaves Moo and Muk’s Pa carrying on the battle against Najib. Muk made this move because his Pa has labeled Moo as insipid and uninspiring. However, for face value Muk will never announce his distaste for his engineered role.
When the UMNO assembly is called at year end nobody will challenge Jib. That already is in the amended UMNO constitution, if you remember. There will be no battle royale except some skirmishes amongst the warlords who still want a piece of the kueh kodok. Of course there will be no battle between Muk and Khairy. The latter may even offer the youth chieftain sash on a platter if the former is still interested which he already sniffed at. Why is Khairy so accommodating? By then Khairy will be appointed Commander In Chief of RELA, more overpowering in numbers against the combined numerical strength of the combined armed forces. A retired Brig. Gen told me over breakfast to look at Tunisia and Libya and how the motley citizens untrained in modern weaponry made their point. Eventually Khairy will be Minister of Defence and bring Rela and the Armed Forces and if he feels like it, the Police, under his aegis. By then Khai’s time is ON…..and there is no one to challenge him. He may even tell Moo, step aside…..you did not help me how can I help you. This help me help you refrain brings us back to Najib.
So why won’t he call for GE? He knows BN will be history. His ragtag coalition is just what it is – an expired product organically corrupting, decaying and decomposing in that order. Come April 2013 he will engineer the dissolution of Parliament and he will make that sacrificial announcement:
“Upon the advisement of my wife, I will step down as Prime Minister of Malaysia, I will relinquish the Presidency of UMNO and Chair of Barisan Nasional. Go now and win the GE13 which I cannot with the likes of you all!
[In UMNO, if you step down when your time is up it is considered a sacrifice, no? Everybody praised Kak Izat, yes?]
He walks out of Parliament with Doctor Rosmah on his arms, both heads held high and there is immediate mayhem amongst the Backbenchers. Some will be signaling at Mat Sabu or stepping over each other to get his attention!
Somebody even volunteered that MATA would be reconvened for emergency travels in the lobby.
I forgot this important bit. Before he made his sacrificial announcement he referred to a sealed envelope he had distributed to all BN reps in Parliament. He asked them to open the envelope only when he is OUSTED by you-know-who. In the sealed envelope was a DVD with a note in his own personal hand: “You did not listen to me. I hope Charlie Chaplin can succeed. Good luck KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!
DANG! I need a quencher now!

NO! NOT A RANDOM THOUGHT!

Despite Walski’s poll result, I always believe in AGE before BEAUTY.

Remember R A H M A N?

“A” should have been ANWAR before “N” but “M” maneuvered.

“N” is already doomed.

A new dawn heralds a new cycle……

The A N W A R cycle…..

“A” and then “N” as in Nurul!

Such a fit, YES?

NUCK YOU FAJIB, YOU AIN’T NO MUCKING FUCH!

The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib when addressing close to 700 former senior civil servants is reported to have said that the government (meaning the BN political party - without doubt), “we are at war, the mother of all battles.”

He boasted that PutraJaya will be defended with crushed bodies.

Then he hosted and formed an international club of moderates!

Then he boasted that Malaysia will be a model democratic country.

Now he says “we are at war, the mother of all battles”.

Who is the enemy?

We the people?

1 Malaysia?

What is People First, Performance Now?

How to win your war when Diam already described you and your team as "generals without soldiers"?

YOU THREE BUGGERS BETTER WATCH YOUR MOUTH!

The Selangor government appointed Raja Idris Raja Kamarudin as executive consultant and advisor to Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Bhd (KDEB).

Raja Idris, who replaces Datuk Karim Munisar, has been tasked with “monitoring and overseeing” the business affairs of KDEB and its subsidiaries.

Raja Idris’s appointment, made through Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI), also allows him to sit on the KDEB board of directors and chair all companies under the group.

“The state government is committed to ensuring that all state subsidiaries are managed professionally with... emphasis on transparency and accountability,” Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim told reporters after a state executive council meeting.

Raja Idris is a member of The Institute of Bankers and The Institute for the Management of Information Systems, both UK bodies.

He also currently serves as consultant to Rototype International, Significant Technologies Sdn Bhd and the Markfield Institute of Higher Learning in Leicester, England.

Prior to this appointment, Raja Idris has held positions in various companies including TDM Bhd group managing director and Siemens Malaysia information and communications network vice president.

The appointment, made with the consent of the Selangor Sultan, took effect on April 5 2011.

This comment by ELOOFK in TMI on April 12 is prophetic:

Well done!!! Must be a Coup of the Year for Selangor MB, Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim. Lets see any UMNOputras try to run Raja Idris down!!!

The above found fulfillment in the persons of these three:

Selangor Umno secretary Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed has questioned why and how Raja Idris, 58, was picked to be the chairman of Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Bhd (KPSB), Kumpulan Hartanah Selangor Berhad (KHSB) and executive consultant and adviser of Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KDEB).

KDEB is the investment arm of the Selangor Government while KPSB is a full-fledged water services provider. KHSB is an investment company with many land assets.

Mohd Zin said Raja Idris, the brother of fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, was listed on the official website of KHSB as a British subject.

“Raja Idris is a British citizen. It raises a big question as to why he is selected to head several big GLCs. Can't Khalid, who is from the corporate circle, find any local talent to run the show?” he asked.

In an immediate reaction, Raja Idris admitted that he was still a British citizen but said he assumed that his appointment was in line with the country's initiative to bring back Malaysians from abroad.

“Well, I thought that was why Talent Corp was set up to bring back Malaysians who have left Malaysia and have taken up other jobs and obtained new citizenship in other countries,” he said, adding that he was a non-executive director.

Mohd Zin said there was much unhappiness about how Selangor GLCs are being run, including the removal of senior officials.

(Who is unhappy, if not only UMNO has-beens? Give us some names of those who can turn around companies like what Raja Idris did when PAS managed Terengganu.)

He was referring to the sacking of two KHSB company secretaries in relation to the ongoing controversy over the “loss” of a 234ha piece of land in Gombak worth RM250mil belonging to a fully-owned subsidiary of KHSB. Two other officials have also been given show cause letters.

(These officials were leftovers from the former Selangor UMNO regime. In management we call this auditing…..housekeeping….even Khir Toyo presented brooms to non-performers instead of sacking them. Why keep deadwood unless used as driftwood to decorate the office.)

Malaysian Trades Union Congress president Mohd Khalid Atan said it would not be fair to others if the appointment was politically motivated, adding that “priority should be given to locals”.

(IF, key word….what did UMNO Selangor achieve? Were not Khir Toyo’s appointments political? Remember a railway gatekeeper building his mansion on TOL land. This late clown was even injected into the Selangor Badminton Association. By the way isn’t the Chairman of NFC very local? Ever wonder why Singapore recruited our former chief of Petronas, Hasan Merican. If you want quality, you recruit the BEST IN CLASS and not local dungus!

“Why trust outsiders more than locals? This is an insult to locals,” he said.

(Why trust APCO, FCB etc….we do not have credible Malaysian PR outfits?)

MCA central committee member Loh Seng Kok urged Raja Idris to give up his British citizenship, asking whether it was wise for him to have access to so much information involving state assets.

(Did MCA urge Yen Yen to give up her Australian PR? If full knowledge of state assets (previously HIDDEN, no?) contribute to gains in Selangor like what is happening now, why not? Grapes are always sour to some.)

THESE THREE HAD BETTER WATCH THEIR TONGUE QUESTIONING THE SULTAN OF SELANGOR ON THE APPOINTMENT OF HIS COUSIN!

THINK BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY STATEMENT.

In January, Abdul Kadir was reported to have claimed that the BN gave between RM200 to RM1,000 to buy votes in the last general election.

This week, Abdul Kadir, who is also Angkatan Amanah Merdeka (Amanah) deputy president, stood by his allegations but said the vote-buying did not apply to his former constituency in Kedah.

(The frist time I met Kadir was on a bus ride from Jalan Ipon (Million Settlement) in the mid-60s and then much later on when he officiated at the opening of an outlet at the new Bintang Walk)

just wondering what is given and taken.

Abdul Kadir should think before making any statement which can affect the image and good name of Umno, said party secretary-general, Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

(I knew Tengku Adnan, also in the mid-60s when he was just a carpet salesman for Carpet International. We did things together I tell you. We lost touch when he met Vincent Tan. We met up again but briefly during the by-elections at Kuala Terengganu. He tried his darndest to remember me. I don’t blame him. I was no more the teacher he was used to.)

Tengku Adnan, who is Putrajaya member of parliament, stressed that the BN and Umno never had and need not pay money for votes whether during party polls or general elections.

SO WHAT WAS UMNO’S DECISION TO DISALLOW ISA SAMAD AND ALI RUSTAM FROM STANDING FOR UMNO ELECTIONS?

Can or not think before you make any statement?

A JOHANIAN TO THE LAST AND UNSURPASSED.

My friend since the mid-60s, Vincent Fernendez, passed on this evening. I was a teacher in La Salle Sentul (the nursery) and Vincent was in St Johns (the factory). He was THE hockey coach whilst I coached football. It was from him that I learnt that our long end of year school vacation should not go to waste – he coached his St John’s hockey team during the vacation. It was also from him that I introduced the Quartermasters Squad in Sultan Abdul Samad, PJ.

However, whilst we shared many sporting moments together, we bonded most when regularly called to the bar, after every Merdeka Tournament and Malaysia Cup games at Merdeka Stadium.

Who knows him better than the students he molded! As such I leave it to Tony Mariadas HERE.

Zabedah, JJ, Zabrina, Joshua and Zacky

Thank you for sharing Vincent with me

And the thousand others

Whose lives he touched.

This blog will maintain silence for two days thru respect to Vincent. I have pledged 10 masses to be offered for the repose of his soul.

BRING OUT THE ARMY?

ABU ceremah abandoned in Klang.

2 Journalists were injured during Himpunan Hijau 2.0 rally in Padang Kota Lama in George Town on Feb 26,

University students holding a ceremah was attacked by village goons. Police were called, did some negotiation and left the scene. The students were followed when they went to make a police report.

Nurul, Nik Nasmi ceremah at Felda Lepar Hilir1 in Gambang Pahang was disrupted by goons.

Chegu Bard and his members were forced to hold off a ceramah in Negri Sembilan last month after the village head with parang lead a group of armed men, threatened a “bloodbath”.

YB Khalid and Arul of PSM spoke at a recent ABU ceremah.

Both have now been summoned by the police to attend at IPD Kajang today at 3pm to give their statements in furtherance of police investigations into statements made by the 2 of them at the ceramah in Beranang which are said to be seditious.

You know what that means, right?

The thugs failed.

So its police harassment now wrote Haris in his blog.

These seem like a prevailing trend at any opposition ceremah. It is a dangerous trend if not nipped! If the troublemakers are not even deterred by police presence and if the police are seemingly impotent, then it is time to bring out the Army. For sure, you can’t buy the army!
