YB SALAHUDDIN AYUB, VICE PRESIDENT, PAS has called on all PAS members to support the MANSUHKAN ISA rally tomorrow, despite threaths from the Home Minister that the police will use the full force of their amoury on those of us who will participate in this rally. Both Tok Guru Aziz and Hadi have declared that this rally is not HARAM.
We should be hearing from DAP and PKR leaders soon to make the same rallying call to their members.....or will we? WALK WITH US....or better, LEAD US and we will walk with YOU.
We are assured that the prestigious UNIT AMAL (now called UNIT KESELAMATAN) of PAS will continue to be around to see to the general safety of ALL. I have been to numerous rallies and ceremahs where I experienced the discipline and professionalism of this Unit. These are the men who should be recruited into the RELA movement, instead of some scums BN has brought into that organisation. And these guys are going to help Hisham reduce crime by 20% by 2010. Even if these guys have "TAK RASUAH" emblazoned on their uniform, I will not trust them.Their poor reputation always precedes them. But I will trust PAS's Unit Keselamatan......with my life.

GERAKAN'S Lim Si Pin led a delegation to give a memorandum to the Palace to abolish the ISA. They failed to do so as they did not observe the protocol of giving notice of their visit. When asked to join GMI tomorrow, he replied that the police has ruled that the GMI rally was illegal.
COME OFF IT, YOU ASS-KISSER! THE POLICE HAVE RULED EVERYTHING ILLEGAL EXCEPT CORRUPTION, DEATH IN POLICE CUSTODY & SELECTIVE PERSECUTION! RUN ALONG RUNNING DOG.
YES Pewaris have this right too, this right to believe that the ISA is necessary. They have their reasons just as we have ours to say NO TO ISA.
Let us respect each other’s convictions.
Both groups have one common foe tomorrow - THE POLICE. They have warned that they will act against the protest. They started by setting up road blocks (HERE). I do not know why they are reacting this way. Probably they want to show that they are in CONTROL, not on crimes but on peaceful protests marches. I have been to all rallies. They have done away with peaceful negotiations with the organizers of rallies. They have graduated from the “I give you 15 minutes to disperse” to “On the count of 3, we will arrest” hoping that we will all evapourate in 3 seconds. However, that too is their right, though how their interpret their right has always been questionable and not consistent.
But both NO TO ISA and YES TO ISA supporters must prove to the police that we can march peacefully as Malaysians. Let tomorrow’s march be a silent, peaceful march for our beliefs. Let the numbers do the talking.
Readers of this blog are advised to visit Laila’s Blog, MERAH HITAM (NO TO ISA) on my sidebar. She has given an exhaustive list of DOs and DON’Ts.
Our band of BLOGGERS AGAINST ISA (you can be in this band if you put this logo on your sidebar) could do likewise by pointing your readers to Merah Hitam.
BUT ABOVE ALL

D'Nightcaller says Mukhriz does not understand the ISA HERE
Last night the Civil Rights Committee-KLSCAH and two facebook groups – Justice for Beng Hock and 1BLACKMalaysia, themed the memorial “MAY HE BE THE LAST” with the hope and prayer that Teoh Beng Hock’s would be the last custodial death in this country.
NO HE WAS NOT TO BE THE LAST.
R GUNASEGARAN, 31 was next. He was a suspected drug addict. But no country “kills” drug addicts. Most countries try to rehabilitate them, not take the short cut.
Even kangaroo courts would not administer this type of justice that results in 1,805 deaths whilst in lock-up detention.
1Malaysia, People First, Performance Now…... how false….truly non-Asia….verily Malaysia.
JUST a day or two before she died, she wrote this in her blog on hearing about the death of Teoh Beng Hock in MACC custody:
"Someone please wake me from this nightmare and tell me that this did not happen in my country and that Teoh Beng Hock is safe at home with his family."
I will remember her when I attend the memorial for those who died in custody as she would if alive today.
YASMIN, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. YOU ARE TRULY AN ANAK BANGSA MALAYSIA ICON.
When ex-PM Badawi re-branded the ACA into the MACC the country realised that it was the same bag of worms, only newly packaged. Period. The glossy packaging included 41 ex-ed this and that or from this and that pasture.
Tan Sri Ramon, whom I respect for what he has done in TI was adamant about resigning as he wanted to fulfill his duty to the PM (who is now history). But Sir, he appointed you so that you will look into the interest of the people and not MACC.
So, what is it now....the people's rights or BN's?
Despite all the negativity that is now associated with MACC, I dont see any movement amongst the 41(surprisingly 2 PR guys too). If you have been selected because you belong to the elite, then behave like one. Don't be the butt of national jokes. You owe that to your family. Step away. Be brave like ex-ACA Director Mohamad Ramli Manan HERE. There is no shame in leaving really, On the otherhand , they say that the higher you are the harder your fall and in this process you make two types of impression - on the ground and on your family and the public. SO?
Reporter: Encik Samad, congratulations for being awarded the Medal of Valour for your bravery.
Samad: Thank You. I did it for my country.
Reporter: Tell us, during your 20 years in service, where have you been to.
Samad: Oh, Bosnia, Somalia, Philippines, Palestine and New Guinea.
Reporter: Where would you say was the most trying place to go.
Samad: I would say, Bosnia and Somalia. There was mass slaughter and endless fighting. I had to be called to do battle everyday but of course no one knows about this.
Reporter: Were you ever hurt?
Samad: Yes, I was shot in Bosnia and was beaten up in Somalia. I was beaten up quite badly actually.
Reporter: There are still some more volatile places where UN Peace Forces are needed. Iraq is back in turmoil and Palestine has never seen peace. Honduras is in big trouble. Would you go to any of these countries if called upon?
Samad: I have been to so many explosive places and come back alive although I met with lots of hostilities. I have faith in my abilities to survive. I will go on even an hour's notice just as long as they don't send me to a police lock up or to the MACC. I may be brave but I do want to live.

Thanks Chegu.
People, go visit him for more subtle offerings at Kata Tak Nak.
It is heartening and encouraging to know that Home Minister has set his KRA (Key Results Area – reduce crime rate), KPI (Key Performance Indices – reduce crime rate by 20% ) and Goals – reduce crime by 20% by 2010). I would assume that he has put this KRA (objectives) thru the SMART tests – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound) to add validity to his KRA. As a practioner, I must volunteer that his KRA is dismally limited in scope.
But let me throw a bucket of cold water over this impending adventure of his. He must realize that his Goal will not be achieved if his KRA and KPI are not managed (and I am not even thinking about the monitoring process) religiously and professionally. Each State Police Chief should write down their KRA and KPI towards the Goal of 20 reduction in crime by 2010. If the Home Minister don’t get this in writing (and written in stone,WHAT THEY WILL DO AND MUST DO TO REDUCE CRIME BY X% IN THEIR RESPECTIVE STATES,TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL 20% REDUCTION OF CRIME GOAL), this will be another exercise in futility that we have all grown so familiar with.
And what if the Police Inspector General tells all the State Police Chiefs to “shit-can” all this new shit, and our Home Minister will deliver to his cousin a tankful of you-know-what by 2010.
All management gurus have subscribed to DOING THE RIGHTTHING RIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND ALL THE TIME.
For Hisham, if he wants to achieve his KRAs, KPIs and ultimate Goal, he must do the RIGHT THING RIGHT THIS FIRST TIME – advise his cousin not to extend the Police Inspector General’s tenure.
This what most Quality Management Gurus have espoused: In God we trust, the others show data.
Here are some data from the Home Ministry website to gauge if the public felt safe from crime in the country.
Right from the beginning, 97% of those polled volunteered that they feel unsafe and 95% hold that their security is not assured.
As at 9.15 am yesterday morning, 97% of 8,761 of 9,044 respondents felt unsafe while only 1% or 76 respondents felt safe.
In fact, I would advise Hisham to redo his first KRA to read: Replace Police Inspector General immediately. This KRA passes the SMART tests invariably!
If the PM does not change the Police Inspector General…..the reason could be here……. (with the help of a little spin I have learnt from the MSM, the message is discernable…and you could replace Ave Maria with “for a new extension").
Recently, there has been a lot of shit and stirring in Pakatan Rakyat.
There is wide speculation that the most recent stirrings might have caused the demise of a member of the family.
That of course is despicable and should not have happened!
But to stir shit, there must be a subject (in this recent case, 2 actually, yes 2!) and a verb.
So who is the subject – shit?, which after the fact can also be a verb to shit.
Who is the verb – to stir which after the fact can be a subject itself as in stirrer.
Now this is getting messy, no?
But whatever, I recall the old adage:
DON’T SHIT ON YOUR OWN DOORSTEPS!
My unsolicited advise is that Pakatan Rakyat must do some serious housekeeping, as UMNO like a buzzard, hungrily lurking on the fringe like all scavengers, can turn your subject into a verb!
Come Wednesday the Inquest on the circumstances surrounding the death of Teoh Beng Hock will be conducted by the Magistrate court. I thought that excerpts from Dr Raficks Part 1 to Part 7 postings would kind of prepare us for what to expect.
Before he embarked on these postings he wrote on 18 July 09:
The death is a bad omen for the country. It is a bad sign internationally. In the mind of the people, the action of the police and MACC has always been slanted. The death of a politician while he is in the compound of MACC raises a lot of questions. No one that I talk to believes that it is an accident. Speculation is rife that it is murder or an accident while being interrogated. There is a strong rumor that he died in the hands MACC while being interrogated and his body was thrown out the window to cover up the death. The government can say it views the incident seriously and looking at setting up a royal commission but how many people really trust the present government?
In reality with the current BN government is perceive as muscling the opposition using the country enforcement agencies. The movement of the Malaysian Non BN political parties has always been monitored. I would not be surprised that there is a dedicated task force that is monitoring the movement, actions and decisions made by the PR MPs, ADUN’s and State Exco’s
The way the Police and the MACC conduct its business in this country has not given the people the confidence that they are truly independent. The truth is far less importance then the perception in the eyes of the public. Right now the image of the MACC and the RMP is in a bottomless pit. This will have a big impact on BN
Following are excerpts from his 7 part postings; The photos presented here do not follow the sequence of the postings. For full screen images, click on the pics.
The following writing is done based on assessment of various images and writings on the mainstream media (MSM) as well as the online media. I am trying to understand the tragedy that took place at Plaza Masalam. It would be great if I have access to MACC office and location where the body was found but without such access, readers can expect some gross margin of error in my writing. Do let me know what the errors are so that we can come to a clear conclusion on what transpired.
Part 1
The second item of concern is that his body posture is lying on his right side. Why not face down? A man that is conscious at the time of his fall is most likely to fall on his face flat down or his back if he is being pushed through a window. If he had jumped I would expect that he would have ended leg first. The pictures are not conclusive enough to indicate any lower limb fractures. Post mortem would be able to shed some light.
Part 2
I believe that he had died prior of hitting the slab roof the 5th floor podium based on the limited amount of blood on the roof. If his was alive and his heart was pumping, then there would be a large amount of blood on the roof if he did not die instantly.
Part 3
I tried to piece the time Tan met TBH and according to my source, when Tan left a short while later the sun was brightly coming up. He had estimated the time based the sun. I checked the time for sunrise in Shah Alam for the last few days. The sun is up at about 549am.
Assuming that by the time Tan came out from the building, it was about 549-555 a.m., I estimate that Tan saw TBH at about 530am. This means that TBH was indeed alive at 530am. This is about 8 hours before he was found dead.
Part 4
If he had been alive upon exiting the window and died upon impact, I expect to see more blood on the roof. The blood would take about 15 to 30 minutes to clot properly and hence in that amount of time, the blood would ooze through any open wound profusely. This is very true especially there is an arterial bleed.
Part 5
In my previous article, I theorized that either one or two person carried the late TBH whom had died for about 30 mins to the window. He carried the person with TBH on his right side and places it on the windows edge. As he pushed the body out the window, the latch got hooked to the pants at the centre of the trousers. TBH weight and the action of trying to push the body down literally tore the pants towards the left pocket.
Part 6
I wrote because my conscience tells me that what had happen is wrong. Today it happened to TBH. Tomorrow it can happen to us, our siblings and our kids. It is my religious duty (Fardu Kifayah) to share and to find conclusion to this dark episode.
Part 7
Last night I received an email from an anonymous (Lets call him Mr. A) person who claims to be working with the mainstream media. I am not sure whether it is true or not but he claims that all MSM media will be running stories in the next few days that the wound on TBH base left hand (the media will say wrist) will be played up as a sign of suicide. It dawn upon me that I have not said anything about the triangular mark on the right hand.
I was alerted by some readers on the existence of a new blog which has made serious allegations against 2 DAP State Exco members on purportedly explaining “DAP corruption modus operandi” in Selangor at www.t4tbh.blogspot.com. I suspect that it is part of a counter strategy that is being deployed by certain people to deflect the current issue surrounding TBH. Who are they? I can safely assume that what you ever think is right.

VISIT DR RAFICK HERE
4TBH Blog peed all over himself and drowned in his own pee. Not true, Hantu informed me. In fact for his efforts he has been recruited into MACC. But mark my words....this puppy has tendencies that brought about David Carradine's demise. His last posting ended this way yesterday:
* The documents will be scanned and posted in next posting.
We were reliably informed that MACC offered the use of their scanner next to a window. Puppy wet his pants and scanned the room for the exit that turned out to be the pantry where an MACC staff offered him some water and the good Samaritan looked exactly like Beng Hock.....and that day was the 7th day.
OK some notes about David Carradine before we revert back to this stray puppy:
On June 4, 2009, Carradine was found dead in his room at the Swissôtel Nai Lert Park Hotel on Wireless Road, near Sukhumvit Road, in central Bangkok, Thailand. A police official said Carradine was found hanging by a rope in the room's closet, and the Bangkok Post reported that his body was found curled up in the wardrobe with one end of a shoelace tied around his penis and the other end around his neck. The same officer said: "Under these circumstances we cannot be sure that he committed suicide." It has also been reported that Carradine was found "with his hands tied behind his back." Carradine was in Bangkok to shoot his latest film, Stretch, and was expected to join the film crew for dinner on June 3. The crew noticed his absence when going out, but they assumed that he took a rest because of his age.
KhunyingPornthip Rojanasunand, a Thaiforensicpathologist and Director of Central Institute of Forensic Science, stated the incident met four of the criteria for accidental death involving autoerotic asphyxiation leading to an autoerotic fatality. Police Lieutenant General Worapong Chewprecha, Commander of the Metropolitan Police, remarked that the closed circuit television installed within the hotel supported the theory that no other persons were involved with the death. Carradine's representative and family members told the press that they believed the death to be accidental and not a suicide. Chuck Binder, Carradine's manager of six years,[15] indicated neither suicide nor accident was the likely cause since "the family has been told Carradine's hands were immobilized (behind his back) by the rope." However, this is contradicted by photographic evidence from the scene published by Thai Rath newspaper, showing "hands apparently bound together above the head".
On June 5, the Carradine family lawyer Mark Geragos spoke on Larry King Live and dismissed claims of suicide, stating instead that David Carradine could have been murdered by a secret sect of kung fu assassins, after it was revealed that Carradine had been attempting to uncover groups working in the martial-arts underworld. In July 2009, it was reported that a private pathologist, after carrying out a second autopsy, also ruled out the possibility of suicide, but was still unable to "determine whether Carradine's death was accidental or a homicide" and was awaiting further toxicology test results.
Two of Carradine's ex-wives (Gail Jensen and Marina Anderson) stated that his sexual interests included the practice ofself-bondage.
Incidently, before Carradine went into Stretch he was in a series called KILL BILL. How appropriate that he posted all the Bills implicating DAP's Ronnie Liu.
By the look of things and the exposure of his fabrication, it is best that no ropes and shoe-laces should be made available to this pup.
seems to have identified this diseased pup. I find puppys adorable but I would not want to be near this rented disease. Good try BN Bloggers. You need an Assessment Centre to chose your recruits.
+++++
Whilst Ronnie has pooh-poohed the documents a reader (justice) of MT pointed out the fabrication HERE.
I attended the Memorial get-together for Teoh Beng Hock at the Selangor-Kuala Lumpur Chinese Assembly Hall. All the speakers drove home the sentiment prevailing that the people were being hoodwinked by the Royal Commission of Inquiry. The main theme during this period of mourning was Justice for Beng Hock, Answers for the Rakyat. This RCI would only look into the SOP of the MACC.....justice after the fact and no answers as to how and why Beng Hock died. The anger of the rakyat was evident. I wanted answers from YB Salahuddin Ayub and YB Tan Seng Giaw. I wanted to ask them why they are still in the Advisory Board, after the recent meetings of the Board. They did not show up.
However, Hantu's step-brother slipped me a piece of paper as I left to go fishing. Here it is:
VISION STATEMENT
To be the Barisan Nasional’s best-in-class and thereby most effective service-provider.
MISSION STATEMENT
MACC is solely dedicated to ensure that the Barisan National Government regains the 5 states that it lost to the opposition before the next General Elections. It will work creatively and innovatively with likeminded agencies, police and judiciary, to extract without impunity, fabricate expeditiously, deceive flippantly and manipulate without compunction towards this end. As such the MACC will single-mindedlymuster all the arsenal provided to satisfy its sole stakeholder the Barisan National Government.
As an HR consultant I was familiar with Vision/Mission Statements and I put the above thru the normal 3 key tests:
Pass the Mother Test: A mission statement must be a concise paragraph describing what your company does and for whom. Show your mission to your mother, if she does not understand it, start again.
Self-Igniting: Your mission is for you and your business. It does not have to be an earth moving statement. It can be whatever inspires you.
Value Alignment: Forget the money. A meaningful mission goes beyond the dollars and cents. If your small business is creative, focus your mission on creativity. Try to be what your core competency is.
The above Vision and Mission Statement of the MACC passed the 3 key tests.
It figures....why we will not be assured of justice or answers.
KU LI was recently interviewed by Straits Times Singapore:
THE ODD MAN OUT IN MALAYSIAN POLITICS
Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah is the odd man out in Malaysian politics. Since the March 8, 2008 general election, which fractured politics like never before, the lawmaker from the United Malays National Organisation (Umno) has come across as the lone voice of calm and moderation in a world of near-continuous bickering.
Tengku Razaleigh makes everyone in the Malaysian political fray uncomfortable. He reminds Umno of its corruption, bemoans the judiciary”s lack of integrity and whacks the Opposition”s hypocrisy.
He slammed the Umno-led Barisan Nasional”s (BN) takeover of the Perak state government through crossovers as “a lie” and, probably much to the embarrassment of the state”s sultan, who refused to dissolve the assembly for fresh polls, has called for just that.
And when asked why the state didn”t have fresh polls, Malaysia”s former finance minister (1976-84) replied bluntly: “The chances are we (the BN) will lose badly in Perak and that is why they are reluctant to have the sultan dissolve the assembly.”
They may smart at his comments but BN leaders are loath to take him on.
The reason: Tengku Razaleigh, 72, is the last of an Umno generation – that of Abdul Razak Hussein, Malaysia”s second premier.
Tengku Razaleigh was wealthy before he entered politics. He did not go into politics to line his own pockets and has contributed more than his fair share to the country and his party.
Not that he hasn”t tried going for the top. In 1987, he came within a whisker of unseating former premier Mahathir Mohamad as Umno”s president.
And more recently, he tried to get enough nominations – he needed at least 58 – to bid again for the presidency. It turned out to be a fiasco. Deputy Premier Najib Razak got 190 while Tengku Razaleigh got just one nomination.
It was a situation that must have hurt. “Of course, I felt let down,” he says softly. “Maybe I don”t know the party any more or maybe they don”t think I have, in some small measure, contributed towards the country and Umno.”
+++++
In normal times, and these are not normal times, Ku Li would have been told to pack his bags or be under house-arrest in his White House. In UMNO-speak he would be sacked. Kaput. Bungkus. Period.
Since 03-07 Ku Li has been putting UMNO under the microscope and have found the damaging bacteria eating away at his party. He voiced out his concerns but UMNO has preferred to be called deaf and dumb. It is humiliating to be told UMNO is corruption personified or like some commentator said: It is in UMNO that you can graduate Suma cum laude on Corruption.
KU LI will never leave UMNO. He needs to be sacked from UMNO. But would UMNO dare?
That is why Hantu's step-brother says that Ku Li just can't join PKR unless UMNO sacks him.
ASIDE: Han's step-brother, just retired from the civil service and volunteered his services for a New Malaysia.
At Beng Hock's coffin I promised to do my bit to get justice for him and his family. Tonight I will approach and ask YB Salahuddin Ayub of PAS and YB Tan Seng Giaw of DAP on their next move. They both are in the MACC Advisory Board.
Potted greens for offices is big business. It can give out good chi if not wilted. Floral arrangement at VIP tables is also a lucrative (apologies to our Foreign Minister for borrowing his word) business and ice carvings at the central display table don’t come cheap either.
And their purpose is ostensibly an ostentatious attempt to fill up gaps, space, hide faults, or evoke the feel good ambiance.
That is only the intro. The business at hand are the 41 henpecked….oopppsss, handpicked elite lumped into some fancy-named committees that form the cog and wheel of the current government’s mellifluous spanking new anti-corruption machinery – a farewell gift of the somnolent ex-premier who a few days ago volunteered that if he had more time as premier he would have got rid of the ISA.
Both YB Jeff Ooi, MP for Jelutong and CPI’s chief, Lim Teck Ghee called for the resignation of these 41:
Anti-Corruption Advisory Board members

Already Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam said, “I do not want to resign, as I believe in fulfilling my duties. As the Prime Minister appointed me, I have an obligation to serve in the true spirit of a former civil servant.” Not Amen, but ahem to that.
It is reported that some of the above wants to resign but…..
But resignation from a post, (unlike in most developed countries,) is, like in most Banana Republics, never a culture in this fair country! If I can recall, Tenaga lost millions of ringgit and yet the CEO was named Manager (or CEO what’s the difference anyway?) of the Year. This MACC has gone after little pussies whilst the millionaire tomcats are flaunting their wealth and positions……and none of these 41 have stood up to be counted. Its pathetic, no?
Chances are they will not resign unless the big kepala in MACC resigns and commits seppuku. That of course will not happen in this happening utopia of the bad and rotten. As such the 41 will not resign.
PLEASE CLICK ON BOTH GRAPHICS
They can still be effective. AT LEAST FOUR AT A TIME SHOULD BE PRESENT AT EVERY INTERROGATION SESSION AS OBSERVERS. That way we will not have custodial deaths in our government agencies, which have totaled some 1,500 odd over five years.
If they refuse to participate as observers then .....God help us all.
I now understand and support Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s decision to boycott the NST group of newspapers and stop the state government’s subscription of the papers.
It is simply beyond an intelligent person’s comprehension how an editor could arrive at the conclusion that the protest against the high-handed methods of the MACC is a challenge to the Malays. Only an immature, insecure and not too intelligent person can look at the Teoh Beng Hock case from a racial perspective. OneMalaysia? Nonsense! If we have people in positions of power and influence with such racialist mentality, there can never be OneMalaysia.
I have just retired as a journalist after nearly 35 years in the profession, and during my years as a reporter, socio-political analyst and editor, I have identified five types of journalists in the media community.
First, there are the EEs — Editorial Eunuchs, who take orders from their political emperors and write and spin stories to promote the emperor’s cause. These political appointees are usually in top and senior positions, not because they are good journalists or great writers, but because of their connection to powerful political godfathers. They are first class cronies. Many are ghost writers for their political masters. Some have become millionaires.
(Note: I thank God that, except for one or two cases, the editors I had worked under are not such people. I can vouch that people like Ng Poh Tip, Michael Aeria, Wong Sulong and Wong Chun Wai are good people of principle and top class journalists, not EEs. My good friend Chong Cheng Hai, the chief editor of theSun, is another person of integrity.)
Secondly, there are the PPs — Press Prositutes, who have sold their souls and principles to gain favours and privileges from their political and/or business clients. They will write what pleases their political masters. The amount of hampers and gifts they receive during festive seasons is perhaps a good indication of their rising status in their media organisation. (Perhaps the MACC should consider looking at this practice of giving editors hampers and gifts during festive seasons).
Thirdly, there are the MMs — Media Marionettes, the puppets who have no brains but are used and abused by opportunists to advance their own political or business agenda. They usually feed such journalists with twisted information and deceive these gullible writers to propogate their schemes of things. Our education system has produced many such gullible, unthinking, uncritical, and dumb people, and some of them are found in the media organisations.
Fourth, there are the JJs — Junket Journalists, those who will write anything for the sponsors of their overseas trips.
Finally, there are the WWs — Wise Writers, the rare breed who know how to survive through the controlled press situation and get their honest views into print without rousing the suspicion of their media bosses, who are usually political cronies. There are very few such honest writers with integrity and principles, and they are usually not in positions of power.
How can we expect to have OneMalaysia when we do not really have a free and credible press? If our prime minister is truly sincere in wanting to take take the country to greater height as OneMalaysia, then the first thing he needs to do is to liberate the press by abolishing the oppressive legal restraints such as the Printing Presses and Publications Act, the Internal Security Act, the Official Secrets Act, etc. and enact a Freedom of Information Act. Then, he must revamp the whole system of administration to get rid of those known to be corrupt, racist, and incompetent. Most importantly, there must a reform in the judiciary, enforcement agencies, the election commission, etc. He must also reinstate local council elections.
OneMalaysia? It will remain a slogan and a dream if the current federal government does not take concrete actions to reform the whole political and administrative environment in the country.
If the Barisan Nasional administration is unable to bring about such reforms, then we must throw it out at the next general election.

AND AS NIGHT FOLLOWS DAY, THIS EE WILL GET HIS DATUKSHIP SOON.
HOW CHEAP AND FRAGILE CAN A DATUKSHIP BE THESE DAYS.

I used to read Zainul's column until I boycotted the Main Stream Media. Zainul rose pretty slowly I believe but this was some kind of double promotion when he became Group Editor. And then things changed.....which brings to mind a well-flogged management change story that goes around. An ordinary worker can only afford to paly football. If and when he becomes a supervisor, he goes for tennis. Should he perform well he gets to be a manager and in some good companies, he gets a golf membership. Story behind the story: the higher you move up the BALL gets smaller.
+++++
And Zainul, if you think people have nothing better to do why don't you click HERE and see who attended the gathering at Kelana Jaya Stadium on Sunday.
When I first met Captain Yusof, it was under a tree at Club 14. We were a united bunch of bloggers.....all new and willing to learn from each other. But it is not so after less than three years. We are fragmented.....some of us are still friendly, some not so friendly.
I am thinking of putting together a muhibah memorial service for our beloved departed brother-blogger Captain Yusof, the Ancient Mariner. Give me your thoughts.
Some pictures of the Ancient Mariner HERE from Hawkeye.
Since Sunday, I have had calls, SMS asking me why I have not paid tribute to my avowed friend and comrade, Captain Yusof, aka The Ancient Mariner. I hope the above graphic explains my silence. I was to have lunch with him tomorrow at the PJ Club, but this is not to be. So until such time when I can accept my soul-mate's sudden demise, I leave you with this Last Farwell. Until then please let me be......
For you are beautiful
And I have loved you dearly
More dearly than the spoken word can tell.....
JOE PALOKA made this comment on polling Day at Manek Urai. I reported a report I received from Shanghai Fish and the Duke on two PAS supporters who were hurt by projectiles thrown at them. This is Joe Paloka's comment:

Two PAS supporters were hurt by by a rock and a bottle. The man was hit on forehead by rock and the lady had to have 3 stitches on her right cheek.????
Is this true or you get wrong information.
For your eyes and information: Police arrested a PAS supporter believed to be involved in the stone-throwing incident which injured two Puteri Umno members at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Peria polling station here.
The incident took place at about noon when supporters of both parties were gathering at the polling station, with PAS supporters taunting the other group.
This caused quarrel among them that led to the stone-throwing incident. One of the stones hit a Puteri Umno member on the hip causing it to swell while another member broke her teeth in the incident.
Their name is Nor Farhana Abdol Rahman, 19, and Wan Nor Azziera, 21yearsold. Admitted at Hospital Kuala Krai.

Well Joe, I just want you to go to this link and see for yourself.....no you need not apologize because I dont expect you to......
I hope you will enjoy Fauzi's post.....and if you scroll up to his earlier postings you could get enough evidence of how UMNO cheated....;like the bag that arrived with Muhyiddin and scenes at Kesedar where ang pows were given out.
Of course we all know what it means when someone says we are speaking with forked-tongue - the characteristic of deceptiveness; duplicity; untruthfulness, intent to mislead or deceive.
Learn to detect little tell-tale signs of the above HERE.
Nobody mentioned blood at scene of the plunge. These sequence of photos show no spash of blood after a 9 storey plunge. Was Teo able to break his fall, realised that he was still alive and subsequently died of shock. That would be a mother of all spins.
Why would Teo commit suicide on the day when he was to register his marriage? Let's wait for the spin masters to unravel this macabre freefall. Teo, as claimed by MACC was just a witness. He was not accused and was allowed to go home. Why would he jump? Or was he transported? If there was no blood on impact, there was also no evidence of a coca-cola wash to rid the scene of blood which would be consistent with a fall from 9 storeys.
Why couldn't his boss Ean unable to contact him. If he was a witness, was his cellphone with him. Was his cellphone in his possession when his body was found?
Last night at around 8:00pm I received a call from someone I can trust. He informed me that there was evidence of Teo being tortured. We await the pathologist(s) post mortem and this time around it had better be the truth and the report guarded against theft.
We just hope that the MACC (together with the police) will move with the alacrity that has been their M.O. of late. Meantime, the MACC cannot touch the dentist.....we wonder why? Have they lost their ten foot pole?
The people of Manek Urai Lama and Manek Urai Baru were promised a RM7million bridge by DPM Muhyiddin, IF UMNO WINS. Both these two townships that is now connected by an old bridge voted for UMNO according to the results available. I went across this bridge a couple of times. No major industries are evident in these two kampungs that justified a replacement bridge, unless the trickster painted some Sydney Bridge tale to these gullible villagers. Probably, now that UMNO lost to PAS, UMNO's hired hacks will say that they villagers heard wrongly....it was jambans instead of jambatan. I apologise for this cruel joke but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
the people of Baru and Lama does not know how this guy operates. Yes the people of these two townships were not paying attention. Period.
YES, PAS won by the skin of their teeth. UMNO's 10% increase in votes is a gigantic gain despite having now lost 6 out of 7 by-elections. This improvement is significantly contributed, we are reliably informed, by a new wing in the Election Commission's arsenal of amoury. These orange-garbed youth phalanx was ostentatious in their loitering around polling stations . Their industrious work so inspired the youth leader and prompted him to prophetically announce way ahead of the official announcement that UMNO had gained control of Manek Urai by 38 votes. How they swung the votes for UMNO needs no explanation or elucidation if one is a student in voter gerrymandering and manipulation.
For pictorial evidence of who they are and what these youngsters do, go HERE.....and do let us know if you know more. Click on pictures for a clearer evidence.
It is my obligation to say thank you to these people featured in this post.I announced in a posting that my reason for coming to Kelantan. I made no formal appeal for volunteers. Datuk Zaid was the first to volunteer accommodation. As a perfect host he was all attention and when he had to leave for KL he appointed his people to give all the assistance we needed. That was invaluable. Thank you again Datuk.
This fellow Duke .....what more can I say. If you need anybody reliable to walk beside you he is the man. He drove us all the way up here. He stayed for the full duration. Passion for the cause drives this guy. Everynight after ceremahs in Manek Urai means driving back to KB at close to 1:00am. That is tiring doing it for five nights.....2 hours to and fro.
All the above describes this extraordinary man.
Arthur began the trip with us but duty to job which takes him overseas often, was of great help during the four days with us. Arthur did the Permatang Pauh by-elections with us. Communicating with this man is an intellectual treat.....especially when he speaks strategy and I-Ching. Thank you Art for your company. And thanks for filling up the gas.
Stephen Francis is a veteran of all by-elections. Everyone of his pics tells a story and good stories they are. You don't ask this man to do things for you. He volunteers as if by instinct. The above traits is very Stephen!
This is a blogger to watch. He is full-time at this. His forte is the pics he produces for his blog. Originally one of the Perak Bloggers, he might be making Kelantan his base of operation. Already he has been chosen by Datuk Husam to follow him together with sifu Sheih (Kickdefella) for visits to the oil-rigs. We connected during the Bukit Gantang by-elections and have bonded since. He was part of our team during the MU saga.
He was appointed our minder ..... making sure we were comfortable to do what we had to do. He accompanied us to MU for all the night ceremahs we covered. His contacts made it easy for us to move around in Manek Urai. His contacts got Duke and Stephen the bikes they needed to cover the 9 polling centres. When you are a stranger, Tuan Haji will always make you feel a part of his family. Terima Kasih Tuan Haji
This group also made our stay fun and our work effective. Thank you Ah Weh.
CONGRATULATIONS PAS THE POSTMORTEM MUST BEGIN AT ONCE. TAKBIR!
9:13pm SHEIH confirmed the 65 majority win by PAS. Some 5,000 PAS supporters are gathered outside the counting centre celebraiting and chanting parises to the Prophet.
9:10pm Vanitha text this official result: PAS Abe Uji gets 5,340 votes against Tuan Aziz 5,283. - the expeected 65 vote majority.
9:04pm SHIEH to say that they will make an official announcement in just a moment. PAS is expected to win by a slim 65 majority. After this PAS has to sit down for some serious soul-searching session on what went wrong, and what contributed to it going wrong. Yes I agree that PAS was a tad too confident.
8:54pm SHEIH called to inform that three SPR officials form Johore we trying to bring in 2 bags. The were stopped by the PAS people,
7:55pm Unofficial results:PAS wins by 65 votes. Earlier there were fears of Postal Votes. But its negligible number if massaged would play a significant role. But would the EC dare?
7:48PM We are getting conflicting results...we won't speculate until we get confirmation.
6:26PM Duke and Lina says that the festivities have begun from Manek Urai up to Kuala Krai. I have told Duke and Stephen that it was necessary to go to the counting centre. They have done a good job since 7:30am and I think they deserve to join the PAS people in the celebrations. We will continue celebrating here when they return tonight. Meantime I will fix some scrambled eggs for dinner. However we will announce the official tally when we get them.
6:14pm A request from Lina: Her blog can be accessed at linasoo.com/n41.html
6:08pm Kickdefella Sheih just called to relay this breaking news: The BN entrance to the Counting Centre is empty. Bn abandoned their election machinery by 3:00pm
6:03pm Duke and Stephen are taking a well deserved rest before they start filing in report from the counting centre. Maybe it is just an academic exercise as PAS has declared victory way ahead of the counting and Malaysiakini has the story HERE.
But lets follow how the victory came about, where and when.
6:01pm Many, including Lina herself have asked me why her readers cannot access her site. Lina just sent this note and asked me to put it up: Zorro, visitors to my blog were forbidden and denied access. Is it possible you could help me issue apologies. Not server problem cos 8 other websites on same server were up and running. I can empathise with Lina. I know her myriads of readers were looking forward for her updates from MU. In fact, we discussed about picking up each other's updates yesterday evening. This morning she sent in her observations to this blog. Lina i am sorry but cheer up, there is always the big one in Sarawak, no?
4:10pm For those of you who have sms me about money flying around. Read Malaysiakini story HERE
4:02pm STEPHEN is back with us....he report the action Duke missed: Massive jams and heavy policed presencesince the altercations between both sides. Two PAS supporters were hurt by by a rock and a bottle. The man was hit on forehead by rock and the lady had to have 3 stitches on her right cheek. Light Strike Force personnel has come in but the verbal taunts and insults continue. Having a cold milo peng to replace the beer....This is the place to keep an eye on today....
3:54pm Lina reports that traffic out of MU is horrendous and the ostentatious escort given to BN by the police escort is making the jam more pronounced. Tok Guru will be at the PAS operation centre at 7:00pm.
3:49pm
DUKE: Tui missed the action! (in Kg Sg Beria)
3:36pm DUKE reporting from Manek Urai Baru.....PAS supporters have left. Voter presence negligible. Now shooting off to Kg. Peria to be in the thick of things. Will give you a break. Go fry eggs for your brunch. Won't disturb you.
3:34pm
Stephen has not called in for more than an hour.....hope he has not succumbed to the heat or he is under some shady tree sweeging on something that fell from heaven. I did pray for a miracle for him.
3:27pm: I have been receiving quite a number of queries as to BN giving out money...ranging from 300ringgit to some 1400ringgit. A few have accused EC impersonators going around with these ang pows. I will not publish unless those accusations can be verified. Let's not use the EC as whipping boys. Let's be fair, although there is nothing fair about war.
3:04pm Dukes despatch: Haji just called to inform that there is again some trouble in Sg. Peria where there was an earlier incident. (this place has the largest concentration of voters and this was the place that held the Ceremah Perdana where Tok Guru, Anwar and Kit Siang spoke)
There also was some commotion in Sok but things have cooled down and UMNO supporters have left the polling area. PAS campaigners still encouraging stragglers to quickly go vote. However, I the Whisperer officially declare polloing just about over in Sok
2:55pm
DUKE says activities at Chucho Puteri still ongoing. Durian feast at PAS pondok panas.Voter turnout 70%
Lina - still traffic crawl....some who left KB at 10:00am arrived in MU around 2pm. Voters still streaming in to cast their votes. The flow is constant.
2:44pm DUKE says that both rival supporters groups have more or less disbanded in Kampung Sg. Sok. Activities coming to an end.
As at 2:00pm 80% have voted.
(9,845 have exercised their rights)
2:20pm
SHANGHAI is now in Lata Rek. Total registered voters 1094. As at 2pm 80% have cast their votes. Many are taking their kids on a picnic to the cascading falls, as they have done their duty and the kids are on a one day vacation. Situation is calm and again the unwarranted 15 Mafrel and 5 SPR personnel......I am still wondering about their presence here. The weather is just too hot for anyone to face-off....looks like a truce has been called. I am still looking for a beer. Sheesh....I am dried like a prune brother,...dried up. (Stephen, I can't do much except pray for a miracle and some will drop from heaven....that is all I can do for a brother in such distress.....or maybe I will drink one and imagine you enjoying it....ok?....I know you will kill me if you read this....but by then you would already have had a few ehn you come back.)
2:05pm From Duke who cannot move yet because two of his riders are still voting. :Fauzi (Topen Perak) will be uploading some pics....will let you know when they are ready to be linked....meantime I wait for my two boys as we are going to have a durian kunyit feast courtesy of good people of PAS kelante. Yummy. ( Why have you got to mention that feast....that is cruel....just you wait.....or is it the revenge of the Whisperer over the beers)
1:52pm Stephen thinks that there is something not right in laloh: the number of yellow-garbed SPR people far outnumber the police. When I visited the loo, at least 9 lined in formation as though to welcome me and show me to the loo (People First?). The do not speak the local Kelate dialect. Are they the phantoms imported by BN. Just wondering why so many of them here and in Manjor. (Stephen, try kidnapping one and squeeze him there until he tells you why he is there and how much is the remuneration......wish I was there!)
1:47PM Lina reports of high spirits amongst PAS. People give me the thumbs up when they see me in my PKR vest. Tok Guru is iconic and formidable. No once can replace him. Traffic still a crawl....took me an hour between Kg Pahi and Sg. Peria. Even when I wanted to visit the loo in the pollin centre, there were at least 9 of them lined up as though to welcome me and show me to the loo. WHY and they dont look local at all and some too young. New breed phantoms? Why so many here and in Manjor too.
1:39pm DUKE is calling a break. Will be going for one last coverage in 10 minutes time. Many voters chose to come out early to vote making our jobs easier. Last update on overall turnout 68%....YAWN....
Guys....I couldn't find anymore 3 in 1 so I am having a beer instead. Wish you both were here. Dang, I shouldn't even mention this to both of you in this sweltering heat. I am sorry for the oversight. Forgive, OK?
1:21pm
Stephen is in Laloh, home to 1643 registered voters. As at 1:00pm 80% of voters have cast their votes. Situation calm and orderly. Seems like they &%#$@** heat has sapped everybody's energy....all look sapped or just too tired to taunt at each other. Police presence felt but no tension.....more relaxed. Some older folks are being assisted out to vote. I still want that beer......and it is fricking hot out here. (Poor bugger....and he cannot see what I am drinking now.... hang on Stephen....I will keep at least one for you when you hit home.)
+++++
Voters are casting their votes in nine polling centres - SK Temalir, SK Peria, SK Manek Urai, SK Manek Urai Baru, SK Sungai Sok, SK Chuchoh Puteri, SK Lata Rek, SK Kampung Karangan, and SMK Laloh.
+++++
1:20pm Feedback from PAS op centre overall turnout stands at58%, reported Duke. However EC says it now stands at 68%.
+++++
Election Commission (EC) chairperson Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof was upset that an earlier agreement reached between the EC and the contesting parties that supporters stay at least 50 metres away from the polling stations was not observed.
"It appears that the EC's advice and the agreement with the parties were not observed. We will have to keep this in mind in future by-elections and general elections," he told reporters after visiting the polling station at Sekolah Kebangsaan Peria here where the incident took place.
DUKE reported this at 11:43am
Supporters of both parties had milled around the entrance to the polling station, taunting each other until the police was called in to restore calm.
The Election Commission expects the voter turnout to be around 85%.
+++++
12:54pm ....and Duke is turning poetic....."some 5km from Sg. Peria we descend upon a rustic village of Temalir. (Duke, what vegetable did you have for your tea-break?) .....Was not allowed to go near the polling centre. Road leading to centre is about 60metres. Voter turnout as at 12:43 stands at 50%. No reception around this area. Big police presence for such a small constituency....900 voters. No aggressiveness from both parties and yet the police are making a show of their presence.
12:30pm Shanghai Fish says that as of now 774 or 73% of Manjor have cast their votes. (Shang....go hunt for your chill ones.....dont be surprised somebody may pull you in for a beer....the road runs through two rows of houses, yes?...just look out for a friendly hand....you never know....there could be some home-brewed thingy....if your luck is good. Cheers)
12:22pm Shang has gone into the interior - Kg Karangan. He sent this: Report ing from Kawasan Manjor, Kg Karangan. Total voters 1049. As at 11:30 572 or 55% have voted. Most disciplined crowd...maybe because of its remote location. (Stephen, this is an UMNO stronghold....PAS had only 26 votes in the last election). Few police present. Both parties mixing and no cheering or jeering.....one crucial observation.....non-presence of youth glaringly obvious. Probably why this polling scene is peaceful.....OK got to move to another outpost.......in the meantime I am gonna rob or steal some beers .....( Shang....I am about to have a chilled one....will drink one for you....LOL). Be safe OK and let me know when you reach your next post. ( Dang, I know how he pines for a chill one now.)
12:11pm Duke reports from Sg. Peria: There are complaints to PAS that some ballot papers here comes without PAS logo. EC seems to be the main culprit. This was reported by Hj Marshid. Duke continues: Got news that the nearby pusat kesedar is being used to buy votes. Many people are seen moving in and out. I only wished I could go in....but I have taken some pics of the activity..
Even Mafrel personnel were refused entrance into the pusat. (Mafrel should lodge a report as they are the official mandated observers.)
12:07PM The Malaysian Insider: Most political pundits have given Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) the edge in today’s by-election for a rural seat in Kelantan, the state controlled by PAS.
Hello, hello, Shang.....tea-break is only 15 minutes, do you hear?
11:49: Duke sees the FRU coming in to control the fracas which the Unit Amal tried to quell. Situation was tensed for a while. PAS supporters continue to be pushed away from the road fringe. Duke, you stay safe and clear from trouble spots.
11:43am From where Lina is, both parties are trading insults, jeers at each other....however BN is outnumbered. Duke in Sg Peria: Massive jams because the polling station is on the main road. Atmosphere is tense here. Both sides equally matched in numbers and vocal abilities. Possibility of trouble, but Unit Amal is around to prevent this. Water bottles are being thrown.....mayhem now.
UPDATE from EC: Turnout was recorded at 57.6 percent or7,085 as at 11am, according to the Election Commission (EC). 11:20am Duke now in Kg. Sg. Peria. SP has the hightest voter concentration - 4K plus, equivalent to a third of total voters for Manek Urai. My 2 boys going to cast their vote here now.
11:05am Shanghai Fish still in MU Lama.......very tense but under control because of heavy Light Strike Force presence.....FRU standby on the fringe.....heavy vocal match ......jeering and shouts of Mongolia and Altantuya resounding.... UMNO shouting back: PAS tipu. This verbal battle still prevails.
Shang, Duke and Lina having break.....you do likewise....give me a chance to go get my eggs done.
Guys....why don't we take a break. I am going to fry three eggs for brunch. Tiger would be ok as we ran out of 3 in 1. You guys out there.....don't go away.....go have a break.
10:54am The Whisperer is baiting me: "Tok Zorro, you eat your heart out. Wouldn't trade this atmosphere for your comfort. Fantastic atmosphere. A PAS win if what I see is an indication.....signing off to feed my boys and nurse my ass." (He means back) I hope Shanghai dont call and Lina too.....let me go fry some eggs....three of course.
10:43am Guys, cha-bor from Ipoj JONG, saya: Hi Z, good job you guys doing over there. Thanx
10:40am Duke caught sight of DPM moving around Sok. Duke observed that he looked "artificially" pleased. I am amazed by some of the expressions that come out......articially pleased....ah well it is the andrenalin fix all right. Duke continue: His (Mubi) eyes tell antother story: UMNO %u@#*^ aledi.
10:34am Voter turnout at Chucho Puteri encouraging, observed Duke. People are coming out in droves to ink their rights. Duke is now moving over to Kg. Sg. Sok. Watch your back Duke.
10:23am Stephen has crossed the bridge and now in MU Lama. Voter registered is 1890.
10:20am Lina has yet to see any car flying BN flag pass by. How to win psychological war if you are shy, she laments. PAS supporter presence is so obvious.
10:12am Duke reporting from Chucho Puteri - cheers and jeers the order of the day here. Police seen mingling amongst both camps. PAS supporters outnumber BN 3-1. Voter turnout encouraging. Shouts of Hidup, hidup, hidup rakyat and takbir blares their this durian township.
10:07am Lina dropped by PAS ops centre and was told that 20% have cast their votes. He is now in MU Baru and will be in the thick of things - the boisterous behavior that is. I can now alert Stephen to move to MU Lama. Lina feeling hungry....the crackling fires and dancing flames on the lemang is getting to her....and she says that she is hungry, and a hungry man is an angry man.....hold it Lina, you woman....and a dang good looking one too....let the men get angry....get away from the lemang will ya.
10:01am Stephen reports that there is boisterous reparte between both camps in MU Baru. I asked him to stay put there before proceeding across the bridge to MU Lama. The police have wedged a vehicle as demarcation to separate the two groups. Groups jeering at the police. Tension mounting here in MU Baru....more police arriving. FRU stationed in vicinity. The police are doing their best and the people should cooperate. There seems to be a tendency of the local mata mata to be more accommodating with the PAS boys.
9:56am Duke is putting out this alert: " I notice something unusual from other Belections. EC bringing in unusual high number of young voting age workers. Suspect phantoms to be in this form. Covering Chucho Puteri now. Long hilly ride with sore ass and not good for my bad back. WTF"
9:44am Duke, Stephen and Lina - Just received this from my blogger friend Sakmongkol AK47: "Salute to you and your team for your efforts in Manek Urai" Thanks Datuk Sak.
9:37am Stephen the Fish(monger) from Shanghai is safe in MU Baru. People shuffling and jostling to the front to campaign (which they are not supposed to do - campaigning on Polling day)....Police called in to control this pandemonium. Police. Police putting up their familiar plastic ribbon....as though it will help....voter turnout is still low.....but situation is under control. Police effective.BN supporters all given umbrellas ...... these distributed by a SUV going around. Registered voters at MU Baru is 1093. Thanks Stephen.
9:33am Hey, Duke....me here in Pasir Hor....you keep your cool ok about the UMNO aunties....I want you back here unmarked.
Hoi, Shanghai.....what's happening.....has the pungent nasi kerabu taken its toll....let me know so I wont be bugging you.....you have been off the air. Over.
9:32AM Duke amused by the antics of Wanita UMNO.....who are taking photos of the kids and threatening to report these to their principals......these must be having a collective "monthly thing" together....programed by Rosie?
9:26am At Duke's end, voter turnout is moderate for time being....trouble still brewing....the UMNO Wanita just wants to create some flak. Hurling threats at youngsters for campaigning for PAS. Here too in MU they have imported SOUR GRAPES.
9:15am Lina says that voting have been brisk. PAS supporters-strength very marked. Lina met up with some PAS wanita campaigners in Chucho Puteri.
9:09am This might help: Voter will have nine hours, until 5pm, to cast their votes in this crucial by-election. The result is expected to be known by 8pm.
Umno is fielding its Kuala Krai Youth chief Tuan Aziz Tuan Mat as its candidate, while PAS is banking on its Kuala Krai treasurer, Mohd Fauzi Abdullah.
Manek Urai has 12,293 voters of whom 99.2 percent are Malays, while the remainder are Chinese and Indians.
9:00am It is learnt that both candidates are not registered voters in this constituency.
8:55am Wanita UMNO according to Duke is giving some trouble to police in MU baru. Barged into PAS territory and refusing to move away despite police plea. Dang, I thought Wanita is looking after Rosmah instead of coming into the kampongs.
8:38am Lina joins in and reported that congestion is evidenced in every station
8:36am Traffic crawl and this is only the fringe of MU. Police on bikes doing their morning ride-around. Most cars have PAS flags.....saw only one lonely car with BN....guess some seeing the heavy presence of PAS supporters have brought down their BN flags from their cars. Poor souls.
8:20am Duke: Stephen will cover the southern sector. I will cover north. Over.
8:15am Friend from KL called to ask if PAS was going to win by 55%. Told him I got to polish my crystal ball and get back to him.
8:00AM PAS machinery all set. More cars flying PAS flags. The Blue Blitz has hoisted our lucky mascot - our green PAS flag that we have had sine KT days.
7:56am Duke got news from Sg Peria that the traffic jam has already started from the main trunk road. Weather remains clear with chance of shower in late afternoon.....not bad Duke's weather lingo. And he ends with: Can't wait to get into action. Can feel andrenalin pumping. May Allah Bless us all. TAKBIR!
7:15am .....that nasi kerabu is dynamite....you dont know you are missing and you are compaining that Kelantanese food is forever sweet....you miss something buddy....These two guys Duke and Shanghai are going to bring in the news fast and furious .
7:09am Barisan Bloggers on the road to Manek Urai since 6:15am. They stopped at Kadok to savor its famous nasi kerabu and coffee. Will try to get some 40 winks before the action starts. I am at Pasir Hor and Duke and Stephen will cover MU....on hired motobikes.
An illegal act by an officeholder constitutes political corruption only if the act is directly related to their official duties.
All forms of government are susceptible to political corruption. Forms of corruption vary, but include bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, graft, and embezzlement. While corruption may facilitate criminal enterprise such as drug trafficking, money laundering, and trafficking, it is not restricted to these organized crime activities. In some nations, corruption is so common that it has gained normative status. The end point of political corruption is a kleptocracy, literally "rule by thieves".
You guys following so far? No, I am not fibbing. Read on
Kleptocracy: (from Greek klepto=theft and kratos=rule) Sometimes cleptocracy, occasionally kleptarchy, is a term applied to a government that extends the personal wealth and political power of government officials and the ruling class (collectively, kleptocrat) at the expense of the population, sometimes without even the pretense of honest service.
A kleptocratic ruler typically treats his country's treasury ( rings a bell?, read as bailout or soft-loans) though it were his own personal bank account, read Balkis.
The effects of a kleptocratic regime or government on a nation are typically adverse in regards to the faring of the state's economy, political affairs and civil rights. Kleptocracy in government often vitiates prospects of foreign investment and drastically weakens the domestic market and cross-border trade. (We are in familiar territory, are we not?) As the kleptocracy normally embezzles money from its citizens by misusing funds derived from tax payments, or money laundering schemes, a kleptocratically structured political system tends to degrade nearly everyone's quality of life, and isn’t this a fact?
In addition, the money that kleptocrats steal is often taken from funds that were earmarked as oil royalties and for public amenities, such as the building of hospitals, schools, roads, parks and the like - which has further adverse effects on the quality of life of the citizens living under a kleptocracy. The quasi-oligarchy that results from a kleptocratic elite also subverts democracy (or any other political format the state is ostensibly under).
(Should any of us get tempted that I am pulling a fast one with this klypto stuff, I can get docu proof that it came from some authoritative source, which I have archived somewhere, but can be retrieved if there is still doubt.)
Muhyiddin: IF BN wins we will immediately builda bridge to link ManeK Urai Lama to Manek Urai Baru.
Humble Me: Forget about immediately building a bridge which you will contract to yourF contractors and which will eventually collapse like the stadium in Terrenganu. Just give the people of Kelantan their 1 billion ringgit and IMMEDIATELY, you bozo!
MR & MRS KICKDEFELLA JOINED US FOR PRE-CEREMAH REPAST
KELAB PENYOKONG PAS - THE WEES OF KOK LANAS
WEE CHIN LEONG- FUTURE ADUN OF MALEK URAI?
POTENTIAL RIVALS TO CHIN LEONG
AMIR FUTURE MP FOR KOTA BARU
THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE DECIDED
THEY CAME TO HEAR THESE THREE CHARISMATIC LEADERS
AND TO VOTE FOR ABE UJI, MALAYSIA'S FIRST FISHMONGER ADUN
++++++
Tonight, there will be no big ceremahs. Instead each community will hold their ceremah kelompok. The three of us, Duke the Whisperer, Stephen of Shanghafish and I will have an early night as we hit the road again for D Day at Manek Urai at 6:00am. I will blog from Pasir Hor whilst Duke and Stephen have hired bikes and will report from the various polling centres. If you wish to be part of this effort you could sms me if you come upon any happenings worth registering on Polling day....016-6319973.
Tuan Aziz, UMNO's candidate at MU is touted as far more academically educated as Abe Uji, a fishmonger. They are still at this from day one. I don't expect Tuan Aziz to be speaking about current issues like oil royalties etc. Most candidates are cautioned about speaking on certain topics. That I can understand.
But his minders, UMNO Kelantan, represented by the "3 Abduls" reminiscent of R Ramlee's film, were expected to come out strong in defence of why the oil money was not returned to the people of Kelantan. UMNO ceremah speakers were skirting the issue and instead spend hours berating Abe Uji lack of education.
Please lah, dont bore us with Tuan Aziz WILL do. The people are more interested in what he and CAN MUST do. But at the end of the day I like to repeatedly emphasis on this:
What's with this 100days thing? A search for its origin would help. Here it is:
The Hundred Days, sometimes known as the Hundred Days of Napoleon or Napoleon's Hundred Days for specificity, marked the period between Napoleon Bonaparte's return from exile on Elba to Paris on 20 March 1815 and the second restoration of King Louis XVIII on 8 July 1815 (a period of 111 days).
Napoleon returned while the Congress of Vienna was sitting. On 13 March, seven days before Napoleon reached Paris, the powers at the Congress of Vienna declared him an outlaw; four days later the United Kingdom, Russia, Austria and Prussia, members of the Seventh Coalition, bound themselves to put 150,000 men each into the field to end his rule.[4] This set the stage for the last conflict in the Napoleonic Wars, the defeat of Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo,[5] the restoration of the French monarchy for the second time and the permanent exile of Napoleon to the distant island of Saint Helena, where he died in May 1821.
So, is this 100 days the beginning of the end? I seldom was hard on Najib as I was on that Baldie Hamid. I found him not interesting as he was not innovative and did not exhibit himself as a man of vision. When he was not handpicked by Tun M, it confirmed my judgment of him. I did not believe that UMNO would put him as PM. But they did. He came ionto this lofty position with a lot of baggage, perceived or otherwise. But he was put up there. He did not labor climbing to that position. He had the easiest of passage even with that baggage..It confirmed the belief that in UMNO post Mahathir, whoever you can manipulate you put him up there, baggage and all.
In politics, we deal with the good, the bad and the ugly. But devilish chicanery I will not stomach. He engineered the Perak state take-over and Perak happens to be my home state. He traded in SOULS which Satan Lucifer himself would have been more circumspect although that was the raison-detre of Lucifer's being - to buy over souls. That to me was demonic, a scheme only born in the deepest depth of Hades. For that I cannot forgive him and the others who conspired with him.
He just completed his 100 days. Whilst many commentators in e-media punctured holes into those 100 days his paid hacks had a field day extolling their master. They were industriously plugging the holes a la Hans Brinker, the legendary Dutch boy who put his finger into a hole in the dyke hoping to save the country from an ominous flood.
Enough jokes have been bandied around on 1 Malaysia.People First is being questioned exhaustively in the Manek Urai ceremahs. Najib has to redeem his slogan Performance Now. It must be remembered that UMNO made him the Prime Minister and not the people. He must perform now. He must plug the holes himself. He must PERFORM NOW. He has to seek a clear mandate from the Rakyat. He serves the Rakyat although UMNO wants him to only serve them and just forget about 1 Malaysia and People First.
If he does not call for an election soon, it will be his Waterloo.
Whilst waiting for the Fishmongers protest ceremah to begin, I shared a coffee table with two interesting seniors who spoke impeccable English. An unedited manuscript for an impending book was offered for my perusal……..
In 1964, then PMIP president Datuk Asri invited the people living in the northern border to come to settle down around Kota Bharu. He employed a Singapore company Timberline to clear the jungle and keep the timber as contra agreement. Tun Razak got wind of this and did not allow this to happen. Why he did that to the Kelantanese Malays is obvious. He was already on the Felda drive which is opening up forested land for agriculture. No way was he going to allow an opposition state to open up land for habitation. He offered instead Sg. Rompin for Timberline to clear. But the Kelantanese had started to move south and had to clear the land themselves. Thus evolved Manek Urai in general and Sg. Rek in particular, just to name one settlement off the beaten track.
After the race riots, PMIP (now PAS) joined UMNO during the mass coalition exercise. Manek Urai and similar districts were left to fend for themselves ……People First it seems. I am just wondering where the PM got this from, because he is doing exactly what his Papa did…..UMNO first, people last especially in Opposition states.
So PM Jibby, now that your 1 Malaysia is declared a joke by all and sundry except by your hired spinners, read Mainstream Media, it is time you rescue your muddled People First Public Relations mantra.
For a start, give back to Kelantan the oil royalty that is theirs. They have not forgotten how Bachok was betrayed. Immediately disburse the funds to the Kelantanese, unless they are not your people.
And since we are at this…..also give back to the people of Perak the choice to choose their state government. They can’t stand the bogus bunch you installed there.
If these are not done, your Performance Now is doomed for an inevitable flush down the jamban of infamy.
Until last night, UMNO was still trying to unearth something to embarrass PAS calon Abe Uji. UMNO excavation machinery were commissioned, even to Golok and Patani....and they could not pin anything on him. So they continue to paint him as near illiterate with no tertiary education! People, I ask a very simple question. Who would you trust.... educated politicians who collected or paid for a string of MBAs, PHd and Datuk Seriship or Tan Sriship and who continue to lie that they can afford those palatial mansions and luxury wheels. Just look at our dentist.....even his former boss would not believe him and the Whisperer's consortium offered RM5 million and the dentist has not open his mouth yet! You prefer the likes of him or the ordinary guy who sells you nothing but fish.
So what's wrong with being a fishmonger?
A PAST FISHMONGER
A PRESENT FISHMONGER
TWO FUTURE FISHMONGERS
IT IS EASIER FOR A FISHMONGER TO PASS THRU THE EYE OF A NEEDLE
THAN FOR UMNO TO WIN AT MANEK URAI.
Didn't some prince said that there is a place under the Malaysian sun for everyone? That would include fishermen. No?

Just to name a few names like
the genting boss and Honda boss,
Not to mention some computer genius in USA.
(did not complete their colledge , right ?)
So those arrogant and so claimed from prestigious universities pls step aside.(low EQ).
It's not what you own but the way you carry yourself that counts.
Of course the UMNO skeleton hunters began to look for closets. When they could not tag him with any misbehavior UMNO information chief Ahmad Maslan belittled Abe Uji as a peraih ikan. This angered the fishmonger and fish wholesalers fraternity who will stage a protest this coming Friday at Kampong Laloh.
This protest ceremah materialised. It was held at the wet market in Kampung Laloh. 300 gathered to witness the rally at which Tok Guru Aziz, the Kedah Fishmongers & Wholesalers President, and the Kelantan Chapter's President spoke. Duke's (the Whisperer) galllery below gives you a good idea of the proceedings.
SHEIH aka kickdefella was a buddy of mine since I started Blogging. We developed a certain affinity, kinda like soul-mates. His job for Husam uprotted him from KL but we connected often. Picking him as my Friday Guest Blogger was determined when he met me on Nomination Day and asked me to await some expose on the oil royalty. I had an inkling of what it was to be in that brief conversation with Datuk Husam just before Tuesday night's ceremah.
I know the following pictures tell little....so move over to Shieh's blog to get the full rundown of this very important item that may determine the outcome of this Manek Urai by-elections. Of course be prepared for UMNO's 101 excuses and lies.
Sheih's posting is thoroughly researched and you need to do justice by reading this comprehensive pieceHERE.
CLICKING ON THE PICS BELOW WOULD DEFINITELY ENHANCE BETTER VISIBILITY
Whilst both the DPM and Mustapha both admitted that UMNO is still behind PAS in Manek Urai, my friend HANTU LAUT, from across the South China Sea, harbors the possibility of UMNO upsetting PAS. The following is what he posted: (my comments follow in bold red italics)
For two decades Kelantan under PAS which should put equal amount of effort in work as in worship is still lagging behind other states.(Even with storming heaven with worship, money will not drop down from the heavens. Depriving the people of Kelantan of their oil-royalty is not right....even thiefs have displayed more honor!)
UMNO has a good chance of pulling the rug from under the feet if they can put their act together. Being the accused it should adopt defensive campaigning rather than going on the attack.(I totally am with you on UMNO putting their act together. They must come away from past acts very synonymous with the basket of Banana Republics’ devious electioneering activities.Consider these two statements of the DPM: "You (the people of Manek Urai) will not just be adopted,(if we win) because some adopted children are treated like stepchildren but you will be the golden child," he promised….and "I challenge PAS, if they can prove that they have done more(for Islam) than this, then we will surrender."What can you make out of these? Attack or Defense)
UMNO has a good chance of narrowing the majority gap or even wrestle the seat from PAS if they work hard enough. Most of their losses in past by-elections were due to loss of confidence, demoralisation, bad planning and poor strategy.
(UMNO never had to work hard. The EC, postal votes and phantom votes are always available. The EC planned and strategised all along. I agree with you why they lost in the 5 by-elections. Voters are now more aware, thru bloggers, the chicanery employed by BN.)
In term of social and economic terms Kelantan is a far cry from the rest of the nation.Should the Kelantanese continue to wallow in their parochial pride and forsake progress and development? (Sir, that bit about parochial pride and forsake progress and development, is an unkind cut to the quick. PAS quarells amongst themselves, whereas you will never get any UMNO cabinet member to disagree in public with Mr President....they CYA each other religiously. If memory does not fail me Sabah is lumped together with Kelantan and Terenganu as poor cousins, despite Sabah and Terengganu getting their oil royalties.)
With the right strategy and with Najib's popularity on the rise, Manik Urai might pull a surprise. (Hold your horses good sir. Word has it that the Tun is sharpening his cutlasses and reloading his blunderbust. Failing these, C4 and good-old-fashioned buckshots would not be bad alternatives.)
The Perak People's Action Committee, a non-governmental organisation, today handed over a memorandum to the Perak Barisan Nasional government urging it to return democracy to the people through state elections or face negative repercussions.
The committee is giving BN until Aug 8 to seek dissolution of the assembly or a statewide hartal would be held.
"During this day, the people of Perak will not engage in any outside activity. We will not go to work, our children would not go to school and we will show BN that the majority of Perak folk want justice returned to them," said committee coordinator R. Mohanarani.
This is a brave move. It is a laudable move. If Perakians can make this happen, all Perakians working outside PERAK must do likewise and make a trip to Ipoh in solidarity with the Anak2 Perak. We, residing outside Perak feel for you people. We are aware of what is happening. As such it is our fervent hope that you will make this happen.
What I am about to say here is in no way an attempt to belittle this brave effort. First and foremost, Perakians must confront FEAR and BEAT IT. When the bully gets an inkling that you are no more afraid, he holds back. In the runup to GE12 MCA's Chew May Fun blatantly treathened that if the opposition won May 13 could happen. The co-alition ceremah speakers and Bloggers gave her the big end of the stick. The voters of 2008 confronted their fears and of course PR won 5 states and the Federal Capital and Ms Chew lost her seat.
It is tough to overcome fear. Fear is a natural instinct, a self-preservation instinct. But there comes a time when we have to take fear by the horns in order to uphold self-preservation. This is one time.
Are Perakians ready for this. I have my doubts. Just a simple example. On June 4, all those who were arrested in Ipoh were summoned to appear before the magistrate court. I talked to a friend about simple hartal measures, done once a week on an identified day, like not paying parking fees. He did not mark his parking ticket.. But when we got into the car later I saw a marked parking ticket. My friend was advised against this proposed measure by an MP. I rest my case.
But if Perakians pull this through, I will be in Ipoh on 8 August to congratulate as many as I can. I offer you Perakians this video on Hartal in Malaysia 10 years before Merdeka
DR HATTA, MP FOR KUALA KRAI, was good enough to arrange for Bloggers to have a face to face with MU calon, fondly called Abe Uji. So, who is this 50 year old that PAS gave an unprecedented nod as candidate for this Manek Urai by-election.
Mohd Fauzi Abdullah is a successful fishmonger and wholesaler. He did not win this candidacy handsdown. He came thru a very unique PAS Kelantan “structure”. I emphasise PAS Kelantan because no other state PAS bodies employ this process-strategy. You will remember that Kulau Krai Parliamentary and State seats went to UMNO in the 2004 elections. Immediately identified individuals were appointed as “shadow assemblyman” and assigned their constituencies. Fauzi aka Abe Uji went through this process andmust have done superbly well, in his own unassuming ways, to have won the unquestionable and unanimous support of the PAS Kelantan hierarchy.
Abe Uji is very well aware that he has to wear the mantle of the late and iconic Pak Su Weil (Ismail Yacob who did not contest in 2004). For PAS Kelantan to hand over this responsibility speaks volumes for this soft-spoken and not easily flustered Fauzi. He carries a certain calm with him and his answers to our questions came spontaneously, never abrasive, more mildly assertive rather than aggressive.
Like his legendary predecessor Pak Su Weil (who was illiterate) Abe Uji comes into the fray with no degrees behind his name. When he was asked about this he answered with his trademark smile.
After meeting him for the third time let me volunteer an interpretation of that SMILE. Translated, Abe Uji seems to be saying:
YESTERDAY, I was deluged with furtive requests to pass on the news that Fr OC Lim was in the IJM undergoing surgery.
Father O C Lim, SJ is a tireless campaigner against the ISA. He was heavily criticised for using the pulpit to air his views on policies and practices that went against Human Rights.
He used his holy office to fight the forces who incarcerated the then Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He supported and was present at most of our NO TO ISA candlelight vigils. He was present at most of the court sessions in support of Raja Petra.
JUST GOT THIS MESSAGE: Message just received from IJM at 8:45am. Fr O C Lim is going in for surgery now. He sends his warmest regards and thanks all for their prayers. Please storm heaven with prayers because Father is critically ill.....Blessed Sacrament is now exposed at SFX for prayers.
Let's do that today....storm heaven with prayers for Father O C Lim.
Last night's ceremah was at Kerangan.....deep in the bowels of Manek Urai. It was an old restricted area outside Kuala Kerai. From the residence we learnt that it was a "Black Area" read, MCP controlled settlement. It is now an UMNO stronghold. Like yesterday at Sg Rek, PAS wants to "invade" enemy territory to banish the fear the people have been instilled with......fear that if you do not vote UMNO, you will lose your job.
YB Khalid Samad assailed the audience in similar strain......how could they trust and believe thru fear, the corruption so rampant in UMNO. He told the audience to go figure this out: In the UMNO Youth recent election the candidate declared clean had the LOWEST VOTES!
Datuk Zaid added more on the fear factor. "If Pakatan Rakyat wins in the next GE, you will still keep your jobs. Whoever told you that you will lose your job, will instead lose their power to keep you in fear."
Datuk Zaid sent the audience away, wondering why the Federal Government continues to rob them of their rights to the oil royalty as documented in the 1975 policy. This is the second time I am listening to the MU candidate, fondly known as Abe Uji. He says hardly anything about himself and delivers the shortest of ceremah speeches. There is nothing fiery about his oratorical skills, but from his body language and tone and manner of speech....there is fire in this guys belly.....waiting to deliver whatever is promised to the voters. Watch this man!
+++++
Immediately after the Kerangan ceremah, we went into Sg. Periah. Dr Hatta had called for this meeting to meet Bloggers who have descended onto MU. It was a fruitful meeting and PAS helping hand was in evidence by the presence of their bigwigs.
+++++
TODAY AT 11:30am BLOGGERS WILL HAVE A FACE TO FACE WITH ABE UJI
We went into Sungei Peria for the inended lunch date with Tok Guru but was told by the organisers that Tok Guru had to give this event a miss. However, the other guest of honor was Datuk Zaid Ibrahim and as such the days programe went on as planned. I had planned to ask Tok Guru just two questions with the assurance that he need not give me answers to my two questions. I wanted to know how he was going to effectively pursue the oil royalties owing to Kelantan and if all the hallabaloo and posturings by DAP in Kedah is all sound and fury signifying nothing. I am not very bothered about the latter but you bet that the oil royalties will be the punching bag for many of us covering Manek Urai.
The folloowing pics were uploaded at 6:14pm but could not publish it as I was literally chased into the Blue Blitz as we were already late to travel the one and the half hour journey for the Karangan ceramah. We have just returned (3:15am Wednesday 6 July) to base (Datuk Zaid's residence) after attending a meeting with Dr. Hatta for Bloggers gathered in MU.
SUNGEI REK has always been a traditional stronghold of UMNO. It is understandable. Most of its 200 odd residents are either employed by Risda or work in the Felda scheme. In the last GE, PAS was only able to receive 20 votes.
PAS could never attract a ceremah audience because the residents were afraid to be seen at any PAS ceremah. Tonight was somewhat different. Close to 150 sat thru and listened to the speakers. PAS went into the enemies lair and spoke through strategically placed loud-speakers for those who did not come out in the open. PAS's Salehudin Ayob, PKR's Datuk Zaid Ibrahim and candidate Abe Uji captured the audience attention and judging from the regular rejoinders I felt that the message went over quite well. Except for the calon, both Salehudin and Zaid drove home the point of UMNO's avowed boasts of doing everything for the Malays - only certain chosen Malays. Datuk Zaid further challenged UMNO: "If you claim you will do everything for the Malays....give Kelantan its oil money....Kelantan is a malay-majority state. It was another hour of drive back to Kota Baru after the ceremah and despite not enough support from the Federal Government, I think the people of KB in general and the PAS government in particular has done well for themselves. There are 24/7 outlets like Hayaki and wifi enabled too.
As early as 6:40am the breakfast joints were already filling up except for the popular Sulaiman Roti Canai which did not open its doors yet. At 7:15am we made our way to the Masjid Al-Juhar. DAP’s Tan Seng Giaw was having an animated talk with YB Khalid Samad and we had Selangor Menteri Besar YB Khalid Ibrahim walk up towards the mosque. The morning prayers were underway and the Unit Amal, now called Unit Keselamatan and the other units from all other states were getting into formation to start the march towards the Nomination Centre.
It was a sea of endless PAS flags that took to the streets. From the rear, YBs William Leong and Tian Chua leading a team of PKR supporters joined the march.
As has always been the case since the first by-election at Permatang Pauh, PR people smothered BN in numbers. That was always a good omen. Malaysiakini says that BN had about 2k against PR’s 10k whilst Knights Templar whom I always consult on numbers volunteered BN 3.8K and PAS 7.5k.
By 12noon everyone moved out and the campaign immediately started – straight fight that is.
We traveled back to Datuk Zaid’s residence for nasi bungkus and the rave of the season – durian kunyit…..that about got us in the mood to file this report……catch some shut-eye before we set off at 6:30pm for a ceremah at which our host, Datuk Zaid will speak.
Hawkeye, the Whisperer and I left later than expected. Duke the Whisperer insisted on driving. We went into Grik to take the East-West route but not before we had some best-in-class Jelawat (Sultan Fish) at Lenggong.
We encountered only one police road-block, but it was a breeze getting through for a very obvious reason. You cannot use the East-West without stopping at Tasik Temenggur. I remember using this bridge to cross over the Dam some twenty years ago. The army would stop you, take your IC particulars. If you take too long to cross the bridge, you will have to answer why you took so long. Seems during the Emergency years, food was dropped or thrown into the lake for waiting Commies. Of course nowadays you just drive through although the ISA is still in force. A bit of an incongruity, yes? It rained when we were going downhill from the highest point (2000 feet above sea level) but the rolling hills were a sight to behold. A couple of times, Duke thought he was driving an automatic Benz going uphill. Yes, all driving tests must use manual gears, if you get my drift.
When we arrived in KB, Datuk Zaid Ibrahim's people were already waiting for us at a designated venue. Datuk Zaid's mother hosted a most sumptious dinner....and I polished off the durian sambal. Tomorrow morning, we join Datuk's entourage at 5.15am to Kuala Kerai, as it takes about an hour to Manek Urai from Kota Baru. Goodnight people. We will report again after Nomination.
Of course you will recall that last night was Wharf's tribute to MJ. T'was a fun night as always when the BRBloggers party. This SOB (son of a bird, do you mind!) Hantu with a good nose for parties, dropped by and did his usual stuff of dropping off some tit-bits. Sometimes, like a maguirita you need to take it with a rim of salt, Hantu's offerings can give you a hang-over. Take it for whatever it is worth:
Snap elections will be called this year....probably after Hari Raya?
PM is toying with the idea of electronic voting!
Dang, I am already late for Col Mike Nassir's BBQ!
Tomorrow, the Blue Blitz will ferry Hawkeye, the Whisperer and I up north to Kota Baru, in time for Nomination Day on the 6 July. We can only afford to take 3 for Nomination Day, but a strong team of 10 will be with us on Polling Day. Except for Hawkeye who has to return to KL day after Nomination Day, the Whisperer and I will be in KB for the campaign period. We hope to cover the morning walkabouts and as many ceremahs as we possibly can, and also distract ourselves with buduh, nasi dagang and nasi laut. Wish you were here too?
Like always, the Barisan Rakyat Bloggers go into by-elections speculating as little as possible and keep focused on giving our people a sense of what is happening on the ground. Kickdefellow Sheih would be busy chaperoning some foreign delegation and we have been directed to work with Dr. Hatta.
Ten others will fly in a day or two before Polling Day, rent cars to move around on Polling Day.....all on their own expenses. Verily, a special bunch.
With PAS going thru some family tiffs we expect UMNO to capitalise on this. It will be a tough campaign for both UMNO and PAS. Manek Urai has been PAS stronghold except on two occasions. A 2000 majority has been PAS achievements in the past. The majority has to be more emphatic to deliver a clear message to UMNO that despite their overpowering machinery they may end up as a pile of buffalo shit. The Rakyat is tired after half a century of ballyhoo.
When some of my blogger friends disappear and are off the radar I figure that they must be under the radar. Here I am referring to donplaypuks. But to my relief, I found out that he had turned from satirical raconteur to a more refined/cultured preoccupation, as a connoisseur of fine wines.
Shank and I exchanged comments and finally met in the flesh at the Spotted Dog. On two occasions, as promised, at the Wharf he presented me with the treasures of his dungeon…..ooppps, cellar - scotch favored by some silver-plated northern royals.
If you thought that I was bitter, cutting, sour and caustic, Shank was mordant, barbed, critical and pointed but sharp. As such I feared for him sometimes, especially when he disappears from blogsphere for a spell.
So when he turned connoisseur I surmised that he had turned his back on satire and had now developed a more refined palate. I was happy for him as he would not continue to churn out those acidic and acerbic anecdotes. But alas, how wrong I was. Somebody said: Satirists don’t die, they just fade away depending on what they drink for breakfast!
Don’t belief me…..read for yourself: And this is only one of his offerings.

Here we are, us ordinary blokes, trying our best with the littlest of resources and only equipped with all that we have – PASSION – are now at a cul-de-sac, blocked by the bloc which we thought would be our ally for a better Malaysia.
Sit up and listen up. Don’t aspire to run this country when you can’t keep your family quarrels within your own house; when you still carry the burden of racism, religious bigotry and cultural supremacies and its attendant foibles. Go look for a new site for your abattoir (Su) and it is time to throw away the “crutches” unless you (Hadi) certify yourself as “handicapped” and beyond repair. Dang, you bunch are making me sick! And Hindraf…..go learn to boil eggs before you meddle with issues that are easily available. You can boil those eggs, because they were ejected by the headless chicken.
