NAH, THE SYMBOLISM OF THE WALK HAS BEEN BUGGERED!

Over a few Balvenies a hardly intoxicated chum chimed at around 3.00am, that only in Malaysia do we do things in different ways when one way is good enough. The road sign above illustrates this! So whats up?
I read this in Rocky's just a while ago:

the walk is ON

Walking the Talk. The organisers of the Walk for Media Freedom never called off the walk. The only thing we changed is the starting point for that walk.

Originally, we had asked you to begin your walk from the big flagpole in Dataran Merdeka. From the start, we had said there would be no assembly.

After consultation with the cops, the organisers agreed that those who wish to walk can start from anywhere (but the flagpole). Meaning, you can start your walk to the NPC from wherever you park your vehicle or from the nearest LRT/bus station. If you are coming to the National Press Club by cab, tell the taxi driver to drop you off 500 m or 1km away so you can walk the rest of the way to the clubhouse.

There are limited parking lots at the NPC so we advise you to park your car at the underground car park at Dataran or at Padang Merbok.

At 5:20 Haris Ibrahim reassured me by sms: The walk for media freedom is ON. Only change:participants can walk from any direction for any distance towards the NPC from 9.30am to 10.15. wear yellow or carry mini Malaysian Flag.

The road-sign above applies. NO?

THE PENGUINS WALKED

BERSIH WALKED

HINDRAF WALKED

HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS (minus Bar Council President) WALKED

THE ROSES KIDS WALKED

BUT THE WALK FOR MEDIA FREEDOM WILL HAVE A SLIGHT(?) SPIN!

Somebody tell me honestly. Have we been cowed or bull(dozed)? Two different words but same connotation (like the road sign.)

BUT I WILL BEGIN MY WALK FROM THE FLAG POLE, AFTER I SAY A SILENT PRAYER FOR MY MEDIA FRIENDS.

THEY TOOK THE BLOWS AND WON!

PIC PROPERTY OF BODOHLAND

Cabinet wants BMC access road kept open.

There is finally some good news for Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) residents - the federal government has ordered that the controversial toll-free access road in their neighbourhood to remain open.

NO THE MEDIA CANNOT WALK, SAYS THE POLICE.

UPDATE at 3.45 p.m. 30 May 2008: After discussions with the police, organisers have advised that the gathering at Dataran Merdeka to walk to the NPC is OFF. Members of the public are advised to proceed straight to the NPC instead.

Now journalists walking is deemed detrimental to security of the country......or is it because bloggers are involved. We wanted to sing the Negara Ku under the flag-pole at Dataran Merdeka before the walk. I was looking forward to walk with my journo friends, present and retired. Well, we are obedient citizens adhering to advice for our safety. So be it.

HE TALKED HIMSELF INTO A TEN-FARTS SALUTE.

Now hear what this MCA lari cur has to say about the beatings at Bandar Mahkota Cheras:

Deputy Home Minister Chor Chee Heung (BN-Alor Star) explained that the police initially did not interfere with the scuffle between Bandar Mahkota Cheras residents and alleged thugs because they were waiting for back-up.

His ministry goons did not interfere with the scuffle between Bandar Mahkota Cheras residents and alleged thugs because they were waiting for back-up. The police had guns, the thugs had parangs and pipes....waiting for what back-up....or it was a Catch 22 situation: they did not want to whack the residents because the residents were watching, and they did not want to whack their own friends (aka thugs)....so they waited for back-up. Back-up to whack the residents or back-up to whack the thugs? How stupid can this deputy minister be albeit he sure looks stupid. Which market did the MCA recruit their machais from? It is no wonder that the MCA is already a fossilized organisation snooping on each other.

"I did not receive any news or report about police using too much force but I assure you that the police will always act in accordance with the law," he summed up. This is a load of bull-crap, I say.

So this guy above is a studio extra with all the props....

and this guy above is the make-up artists master-piece?

"The few police personnel present were managing traffic and were unable to act due to their numbers."

"They only managed to get the district police chief to send more enforcement to that area. By the time the FRU (Federal Reserve Unit) and police officers showed up, the scuffle had already ended.

"All they could do was to issue warnings and told the crowd to disperse. In the confusion, residents were beaten up by unidentified thugs and they decided to use more force by using a car to knock police officers over."

You were not there so who told you to say those things?

Chor, you are the epitome of Chinese stupidity.....an end-result of some misdirected clash of misguided genes. You are a sad case indeed. Macbeth must have had you in mind when he uttered those immortal line: the devil damn you, you cream-faced loon.

And like all BN operative running dogs, he signs off with some unwarranted advice:

"The police are professional enough and I am confident that they can investigate properly into this. Don't just base all your accusations on Malaysiakini."

So in you go where you rightly deserve: a ten fart salute. Hope you come out a changed man and smelling like a daisy. Have a well-deserved stay. We will inform the rakyat, especially your constituents when you deserved to be released back to them.

SOMEBODY OUT THERE PLEASE HELP OUR BUDDY.

THE FOLLOWING TEXT IS PRODUCED COURTESY OF STOCKTUBE WITH THANKS.

Of course the Grand Saga spokeman responsed in lighting speed that the company has nothing to do with those thugs or gangsters. Sure, and we’re suppose to believe those thugs have nothing better to do than to guard the concreate slabs not belonging to them? How come I smell something fishy with this Grand Saga’s executive director who happened to be the former Dang Wangi Police Chief?

I salute the people of Bandar Makotar Cheras for their perseverance and TENACITY...... innocent passerby Chang Jiun Haur, resident Chin Kee Chong and Utusan Malaysia's picman Roy Azis Abdul Aziz.

Malaysiakini reported:

"In a significant about-turn, Selangor police chief Khalid Abu Bakar was at the scene at about 7.30pm to give the jubilant residents the green light to remove the wall.

The residents, with the help of tractors, eventually cleared the access road for motor vehicles to pass by 9.30pm.

The police, who had earlier been accused of siding with toll operator, kept a close watch on the operation. Khalid had also warned Grand Saga not to rebuild the wall."

Whilst one may think that this episode has seen a happy ending after blood has been spilt, it will be a good exercise to reflect on how money can corrupt any system....how vile the rich can become in the greedy pursuit of manna..

Can these people (below) sleep peacefully after what has been inflicted on the people of BMC?

Will the residents of condominium Puncak Nusa Kelana undergo any ordeal when we try to save our Lake?

We need to be prepared for any eventualities as Stocktube signed off by asking:

Don’t you feel insecure and confuse of what is happening in this country when the PM, the Deputy PM and all the Ministers are damn quiet about the brutality as if it never happened?

++++++++

On Saturday 1 June, at 10.00am the developer PUNCAK DANA will meet the residents on the proposed takeover of the Lake to make way for a MALL. Coincidently it will co-incide with our childrens drawing competition at 9.00am. The theme would be: Save Our Lake. Prizes, because it is an environment effort, has been generously donated by McDonalds.

WALK WITH OUR MALAYSIAN MEDIA, PLEASE.

Last May, our lawyers marched from the Palace of Justice to the PM's department in Putra Jaya. Flagging off the march, the Bar Council President remarked that "when Lawyers march, there must be something wrong."

On June 1 2008 (this Sunday) at 9.00am the Malaysian Media will assemble under the National Flag at Dataran Merdeka and after a short ceremony, they will take a similarly short stroll to the National Press Club for a talk by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim.

I heard that the Mainstream Media's bigwigs will take this significant stroll too. That would be the most welcome gesture in support of their associates.

The program for the morning is as follows…

9 – 9:45am Walkers arrive individually at the National Flag at Dataran Merdeka, show their respect, and then proceed immediately to the National Press Club. Please DO NOT gather anywhere at the Dataran. If there are any blockades, simply avoid those and find another route to the NPC. No confrontation and no heroics please.
10:00 am Welcoming address by the organisers
10:15 am Keynote address by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim
10:45am Sharing by participants followed by Q&A
11:30am Reading of the 1st June Statement
11:40am Re-reading of the 3rd May Memorandum
11:50am Launch of the signature campaign endorsing the 3rd May Memorandum
12:00 noon Participants take the Pledge Resolution on Media Freedom

when our journalists walk
they will be wearing
their hearts on their sleeves.

WOW! VERY MACHO....BUT MUST HAVE SPUNK YOU KNOW.

COURTESY MOB

The following was reported shortly after the rude awakening post 8 March:

"All candidates must have blogs," Abdul Rahman told The Associated Press. "If not, they are not qualified to be leaders."

In the past, party politicians have said bloggers spread lies and rumors. Many of Malaysia's blogs contain commentary critical of the government.

But now, even youth deputy Khairy Jamaluddin — who once compared bloggers to monkeys living by the law of the jungle — has a blog.

"The last election showed that we lost the cyberwar. We need to embrace the technology now," Abdul Rahman said.

He said help will be available for party members who do not know how to create a blog.

And now all the LOSERS have blogs, amongst them Khir Toyo, Ali from Malacca. The latter of course made a bo-boooo of his blog. He deleted the ton of comments against him and thought he did a good job. He just simply did not understand blogging. It is simple, but simpletons can't figure this out.

...........and this morning, this:

Government to engage bloggers in cyberspace!

The Deputy Prime Minister has awakened to the fact that engagement is better than harassment, but he still hasn't got it yet: read his utterings and my comments in bold italics.

The Government had not been savvy in engaging the new media and lost out in cyberspace, he said, "This was one of the factors that led to us having a worse than expected performance. But we live and learn. Being silent is not an option anymore and we have to address the issues raised."(You were not silent actually unless you were not aware. That macho lady minister unleashed her measly-paid cyber-troopers onto bloggers. But Assalina's darlings went on a sniping spree instead of intelligent engagement.Their poor command of English gave them away!)

He in fact has started the ball rolling by putting a reply through his press secretary Datuk Tengku Sariffuddin Tengku Ahmad to a posting on Malaysia Today, a news portal run by Raja Petra Kamaruddin. (aha...this is a no-no....don't delegate, don't empower important communications to your machais.....you want to say something ....it must be from the heart....your own heart...unless you believe that Raja Petra and us are not in your league to give personal replies to.....bloggers are credible when they write FROM THE HEART.)

“We need to have people who are active participants of the new media, who are sympathetic and understanding of the government’s position. (we are sympathetic and understanding IF THE GOVERNMENT'S POSITION IS TRANSPARENT, ACCOUNTABLE AND FAIR....these are traits the BN government lacks pathetically....liberally throwing the Sedition Act, OSA and your full arsenal isn't engaging....the man in the street calls this BULLYING.)

“Therefore, instead of just criticising them (the new media) or running them down, the best thing to do is to engage them. Hopefully they will understand our perspective,” he added. (its ok to criticise us if we stray, but do it professionally. Takes a bit of effort, of course, to be professional. LEADERSHIP IS ACTION AND NOT POSITION.

To another question, Najib said the Government gave the mainstream and new media a great deal of latitude to criticise. However, he said: “There is a line which shouldn’t be crossed” because it could undermine the wider interest of society. (Sir, it depends on where the LINE is drawn on a level playing field....if you draw the line on our defensive third, it cannot be fair.....if you throw sedition etc at us, can you be red-carded too if you throw seditious stuff at us (circa 1987?)....just think about that....that remark of yours did undermine the wider interest of society...to quote you. Aside: When you pit Stoke City against mighty MU at Old Trafford, it is called a bloodbath!...and the LINE has to be clearly drawn.)

He said Raja Petra had been free to criticise the Government “very robustly and stridently” in his blog for years and the Government had not taken any action against him. ("the Government had not taken any action against him." Let me remind you that in 2007, he and his wife (separately) were called in for some 'robust' grilling.....no action?

“But when certain things he said constituted a very serious attack against the institution, the Attorney-General decided that he had crossed the line,” Najib said. (RPK said: Send Altantuya murderers to hell! Hell is what they deserve after we lynch them.Where else to send them? TO THE CONVENT OR OLD FOLKS HOME? The AG acted on whose INSISTENCE.....AND WHAT INSTITUTION ARE YOU REFERING TO....SDN BHD OR BERHAD? Sir, it is mouthings like this that get us bloggers on our goat....mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.)

Anyway, we welcome your troppers into blogosphere....the more the merrier.

CAN THE SELANGOR GOVERNMENT TAKE UP THIS CHALLENGE: SAVE OUR LAKE.

CLICK PIC FOR BIGGER IMAGE

This lake belonged to Yayasan Selangor. In fact our condominium complex was part of Yayasan Selangor land bank. The land was sold to Puncak Dana. Yayasan Selangor sold the lake to Puncak Dana too. It is said that this lake was sold to an Arab for a huge profit and they gave Puncak Dana to develop it. Then we got news that it was a Singaporean who bought the lake and want to develop it into a mall. In both cases Puncak Dana sold to foreigners......just like selling your souls. NO?

On the 31 May, Saturday at 10.00am the residents are meeting with the developer Puncak Dana. We do not know what tales will be told but we hope that our Member of Parliament (Subang) YB Sivarasa, our Adun (Kota Damansara) Dr. Nasir and YB Elizabeth Wong (State Exco - Environment) will lend their voices to ours. It would be great if our Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim can make time for this too. Although they are not directly involved I hope to recruit the help and support of my buddies, YB Edward Lee, Adun Bukit Gasing, Tengku Nazaruddin, President CAHC, YB Ronnie Liew, MP Pandamaran and YB Wee Choo Keong, MP Wangsa Maju, YB William Leong, MP Selayang. Of course it will be great too if all the Pakatan Rakyat Members of Parliament and State Assemblymen can WALK this through with US.

THANKS CAPT. YUSOF, TONY YewTUBE ......my other blogger friends must have taken their children on vacation.

PUNCAK DANA, KEEP YOUR MONEY-GRABBING HANDS OFF OUR LAKE!

CLICK ON ALL IMAGES TO ENLARGE

Some 4 years ago I sold my landed property in Kelana Jaya and moved into a condo unit at Puncak Nusa Kelana. I never liked the idea of condo living as I would feel caged-in. I chanced upon this condo when I went to pick up a 90 year old birthday girl Aunty Betsy Rozells for breakfast. As Karen dealt with the security I took in the beauty of the lake fronting the condo. As we entered my Xaverian buddy of the 50's Gerard Rozells unit and from his lanai saw the garden one floor below I made up my mind that I could live in such a condo. .We immediately looked for a garden-floor unit, found it and within a week purchased it. I am enjoying my haven, the garden, the friendly ambiance, the very clean lap pool and of course OUR LAKE.

However around end March we noticed the water level of the lake was below its normal water-line. It was then we discovered the developer, Puncak Dana, draining off the lake. Most of us bought our units because of the lake. Earlier I praised our garden and our lap pool. It is what it is because we HOUNDED and HARASSED Kong & Jaafar, the Property Management group. Our condo was branded the MEWA category, thus our insistence on K&J maintaining the standards. Of course, the developer Puncak Dana washed their hands off any responsibilities. They even sold "common areas" much against S&P agreement. We complained and MBPJ sent them a letter to dismantle structures in common area.....but certain things must have changed hands - like "mutual agreement" between the developer and MBPJ. Nothing happened.

The pics below are self-explanatary.

The Pre-Management Corporation and the Resident Association recruited the assistance of our Adun YB Dr. Nasir (Kota Damansara) together with my buddies, YB Edward Lee and Tengku Nazaruddin, President of CACH, and blogger YB Elizabeth Wong., Selangor Exco (Environment).

We were told that Puncak Dana intends to build a mall on where the lake is. Another commercial complex when we already have Dana1 & Dana 2 to the east, Sime Darby's Oasis on the west, Damansara Ara business complex in the north-west, and Crimson business complex in the north-east......5 commercial complex withing some 3 kilometer radius.

I AM RELYING ON MY BLOGGING BUDDIES TO BLOG ABOUT SAVING THIS LAKE.

IF PUNCAK DANA WANTS A FIGHT, WE THE RESIDENTS ARE ABLE AND READY.

IF PUNCAK DANA WANTS A MALL,
WE TOO CAN OBLIGE WITH A MAUL.

TUN, SHOW THE PEOPLE YOUR GOOD SIDE. BE AN INSTRUMENT FOR PEACE.

My Sunday was spoilt when I read this in Malaysiakini:

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has warned of possible unrest in multi-racial Malaysia, accusing his successor, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, of failing to assert his authority.

"Now we are seeing the different races making demands on the government, which they perceive as a weak government," the former premier told reporters in Tokyo yesterday.

He said "extremists" among different communities had begun to voice their opposition and make unfair demands on the government, trying to "divide rather than unite."

Tun, you had your innings....you chose Badawi to be the next batsman.....let him bat. If he is a poor batsman, he will be bowled out before he can score any runs. He was in your own team. How can you jeer your own team-mates. That's very unsporting. Now you have abandoned the team you led for 20 odd years. Now you have called for a mutiny. That is definitely not statesmanly.

I fervently pray the remarks (highlite mine) you made were not intended to foment hatred amongst the communities. In your day, extremists and those who made unfair demands have never escaped your ISA dragnet. If you hate your annointed and now constitutionally elected Prime Minister, please do not involve us anak Malaysia to topple him. Do it within the ambit of the UMNO constitution.

Let us senior citizens show the young that in our twilight years we are still not bitter, grouchy, despicable, recalcitrant. Let me add, I do not wish any young Malaysians to brand us old folks as intransigently intractable.

Tun, make time to listen to this famously loved prayer of Francis of Assisi and ponder on those simple pleas.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

And Tun, at home here, this is the plaintive plea of our young Malaysians. Their song was just released less than two weeks ago:

Here in My Home
- Malaysian Artistes For Unity -

Hold on, brother hold on
The road is long, we’re on stony ground
(But) I’m strong, and you ain’t heavy
Oh there’s a miss-spoken truth that lies
Colors don’t bind; oh no
What do they know? They speak falsely

Here in my home
I’ll tell you what it’s all about
There’s just one hope here in my heart
One love undivided
That’s what it’s all about
Please won’t you fall in one by one by one with me?

(Chorus)
Fall in, fall in
Fall in with me
Fall in, fall in, fall in with me

Push back sister won’t you push back?
Love won’t wait, just keep pushing on
Yes I’m strong, you ain’t heavy
Oh don’t you worry about that
What we have shadows can’t deny
Don’t you know it’s now or never?

Here in my home
I’ll tell you what it’s all about
There’s just one hope here in my heart
One love undivided
And that’s what it’s all about
Please won’t you fall in one by one … ?

(Rap)
Years of fears and years of tribulation
The heart keeps searching for that endless devotion
Hand in hand we’ll march like blood brothers
I speak for my people, hope we’ll find peace forever
May the road ahead quench my thirst for success
May the road behind echo a song of the blessed
Yes I feel it in my bones, so I will let it be known
That no matter where I roam this is home sweet home
Sing!

Here in my home
I’ll tell you what it’s all about
There’s just one hope here in my heart
One love undivided
That’s what it’s all about
Please won’t you fall in one by one by one with me?
(x3)

TUN SIR, I CHOCKED AND SHED A TEAR OR TWO EVERYTIME I WATCH THIS GROUP OF YOUNG MALAYSIANS SING THEIR SONG. CAN YOU SPARE A DROP OF TEAR TOO?

SALAM TUN, YOU SURE HAVE A GOOD SIDE, DON'T YOU?....WE ALL HAVE SOME.

SPARE A THOUGHT FOR SICK YOUNG MALAYSIANS DURING THIS SCHOOL VACATION.

School vacation is on us again and it invariably becomes time to put away the school bag and just enjoy not having to get up early and not having to worry about homework and that strict Madam Martinet.

Yes? No? Perhaps it is a good time to get our kids to realise how lucky they are; that whilst they have the luxury of roaming shopping malls and stuffing pizzas, there are many kids whose life hangs by the thread.....our terminally ills kids. Will it be a challenge if I ask parents to take their kids to hospitals to spend some time with these kids? No, let it be just a suggestion. It could be a good exposure for our kids....unless we want to protect our kids from the truth.

I am posting here a blog-post of a Malaysian now residing in Madagascar. I met her recently when she came back to vote during the elections. She is a frequent visitor of my blog and recently donated RM5,000 to All Blogs, the Alliance of Bloggers. She describes herself as "famous blur aunty ...little bit hip many bits Aunty". Here is her (Gobloking aka Penny Chan, rabid BBGS alumni who swore she will never go near the Pavilion) latest posting:

Suffer the little Children..

I went to visit the General Hospital Oncology ward for kids and women yesterday in the "big city" of this country. It was a trip which tested my faith (whatever faith that is!)

I knew that in going there, there are only 2 things I need to do.

1 is NOT to cry. If I did, that may be a signal for hopelessness.

2 is I MUST touch the kids and talk to them. Even if they speak another language. (Princess Diana "taught" me that).

Yes. The place was barely clean.
Yes. The place was FULL of virus, bacterias and then Some!
Yes. It smells of everything that assaults the senses.

But I saw parents, grandparents, & sibling staying and living with these kids in the hospital for as long as they need to complete their treatments.

These kids with cancer ranged from 2 years old to 13 years old. There were "only" 12 of them here. All are skinny. Half are listless. All are in pain from the cancer or from the treatment.

3 of them no longer cared to live. No eye contact, just pain, pain, pain. But 1 little boy took my heart.

Yes. I know here I am beginning to make out like I was some f**king hero but the truth is, only 2 of us, foreigners made physical contact with the kids. The other 13 local ladies who went did not do so.

Now this little boy with a terribly big tumour that filled 50% of his mouth (it used to fill 90% of his mouth and covered to as far as his entire neck!) just SMILED & SMILED.

He had the best smile I have ever seen. No need to pay a dentist a million bucks for his smile. And all because of a bag of cheap toy guns which we opened together and started playing with.

Yes. I wouldn't buy a toy gun for a child because it supposedly promotes violence. But what the heck! I don't know how much longer this boy would live (he does have a huge cancerous tumor) & he so..ooooo LOVED his toy.

OK. I didn't think of toys. I thought of honey as sustenance if they couldn't eat. So I took pots of honey and condensed milk.

The families of these kids have come from far and wide, and they have come only because they love this child & because they had HOPE.

Here, they usually have 5 to 10 kids & to come here to the big city, they literally have to abandon eking out a small existence & who knows who is caring for, or looking after feeding their other kids?

Everyday these parents don't work, they don't eat. Fairly straightforward in poor countries like this.

I was wondering why are there only 12 kids here? Many reasons. But the primary one is lack of space, lack of info.

It seems there are many MORE out there (maybe for every kid in hospital now, 100 are not being hospitalized?) who don't know their kid have cancer, who don't care their kid have cancer or who just HOPE God is there to "cure" them.

So excuse me again. Where is God and why does he make little children suffer? What were their sins again?

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 22, 2007 REVISITED

On 22 November 2007, I put up this posting titled: SHAME, SHAME, ALL THE MONKEYS KNOW YOUR NAME. I reproduce it today in toto.
A few days ago our Minister of Information called together some journo bloggers and my non-journo buddy Captain Yusof aka The Ancent Mariner for a briefing on the impending outcome of the International Court of Justice deliberating who owns Pedra Blanca. According to the Ancient Mariner, the Minister was sort of preparing us for the worst. Current Foreign Minister, Rais Yatim hinted similarly but finally said that a win was possible. We know the results yesterday. But let's go thru some of the not so nice things we did, last November...................

SHAME....she forbade him to head for Hague

SHAME! Go so far poorly prepared to fight for a piece of rock!

SHAME! Somebody gave junior a leg-up...pulling rank aka nepotism.

SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

For using this doctored foto

SHAME! To lie in an International Court!

SHAME! For sending an inadequate team of father, son and balding spirit.

SHAME! We could not perform in front of the international community.

SHAME! Something is dreadfully wrong with the house of Denmark. We get pinned down most of the time!

SHAME! That we have to end up in this posture in the international arena. Why do we offer ourselves to be buggered all the time.

UPDATED 8:15AM 24MAY 200

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said: We won half and Singapore half. So I say it's a win-win situation.
How can lah Minister, they won a rock and we won a pebble. Macam MU buy Christiano Ronaldo for millions of pounds and the bookies pay peanuts just to "buy" over a city's football team! Mana boleh?

MOST SHAMEFUL IF WE HAVE TO BE TROUNCED BY A LITTLE DOT!
LET'S START PRAYERS FOR MALAYSIA.

Be Calm And Mature In Accepting ICJ Decision, Says Rais

THE HAGUE, May 22 (Bernama) -- Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim says Malaysians should be calm and mature in accepting whatever decision on the sovereignty of Pulau Batu Puteh, Middle Rocks and South Ledge is delivered by the International Court of Justice here Friday.

"(There is) the need for our Malaysian society to be calm and mature about it so as not to translate this into a political upheaval either way. This is very important," he told Malaysian journalists here.

Rais, who arrived today to attend the delivering of the ICJ decision on the dispute between Malaysia and Singapore, said that he had given briefings to Johor state leaders and the Sultan of Johor on the atmosphere of the case.

He reiterated that Malaysia was optimistic about the case, which was brought before the ICJ after both countries signed a special agreement on Feb 6, 2003.

"But as I stated earlier, how we respond is very important, if we win, it would not be very good to be overly euphoric," he said.

"But it is otherwise, our response must not hurt the feelings of others," said Rais.

"In a such a situation, although we are optimistic of winning, our ability to adapt after tomorrow is what counts," he added.

Mr Minister Sir, advice is well given and well taken. I have great faith in our new Malaysians. What I fear is that politicians will make capital of this loss. Admittedly, as Rocky observed over "tea" in the BlogHouse this afternoon, we have lost one rock but gained two pebbles, South Ledge & Middle Rocks.

click to enlarge pic below....better to view where Middle Rocks is.

It is best we learn from this loss. We have been too complacent. We do not value what we have until it is taken away from us, and all because we did not care. And when somebody lay claim we rant and rave. That's what Malaysia under the BN has been about. Rant and rave and blame everybody, even the cleaning lady. We take it so lightly that we did not send an elite team. Maybe the team we sent to claim that bit of rock did their best, but their best was not good enough.....even the son of the AG did not make a difference. We have lost a strategic piece of property....no money no doubt....so lets put our tail humbly between our legs and LEARN, LEARN....BE HUMBLE.....LEARN.

THIS IS THE DBKL GOON.

PLACE: Taman Desa Setapak

SITUATION: Illegal Gerais were set up some 20 years ago. Correspondence is available that the
former MCA MP would, with DBKL solve this problem. It was never solved and business went on as usual.
Recently, it is believed the MCA in collusion with some DBKL officers decided to revive this age-old problem. Notice was given that the gerai would be demolished. Wangsa Maju MP Wee Choo Keong negotiated with the Ketua Pengarah DBKL for a stay of action. Emails were sent out by Datuk Hj Salleh to all the relevant officers in Jabatan Perancang on this stay of action.
But this officer, AZLAN ABDULLAH disregarded the directive and sent out the wrecking crew. His immediate supervisor, one Mahadi was informed by email and sms about this 14 days stay of action. He claimed that he never read his sms for 5 days. This is quite incredible.

Two police reports have been lodged against an officer of DBKL, En Azlan bin Abdullah, at the Balai Polis Wangsa Maju this afternoon for 1) the continuing criminal demolition of private property; and 2) his criminal abuse of power and defiance of order from his superior to stop acting outside of his duties.

The two police reports are: WMAJU/005428/08 (12.49 pm); WMAJU/005430/08 (1.41 pm)

Comments in YB wee's blog accused Azlan Abdullah of selective demolition of the gerais. Certain illegal stalls were left untouched. I smell money, money, money....NO?

Subject: Re: Fw: gambar gerai desa setapak diroboh Oleh Jab Perancang

YB. Wee Choo Keong

Sekian Terima Kaseh,

Aj. Shaari
Pegawai Khas kepada Datuk Bandar
