It has always been a morning ritual, black steaming coffee and cereal whilst going online into NY Times, Herald Tribune, Malaysiakini, NST, and Star in that order. By the time I finished M'kini I had finished my cereal. And I consider myself ruddy lucky. No prize for guessing why....anyway some excerpts and my bold (pun intended) comments:
Star front-paged that the political leaders pledged to think of the people! They said that key issues like the fuel hike and its spill-over must be addressed. The PM said: "My main priority is to pay attention to important issues like the rising prices of fuel and goods." We are still waiting! Nobody in your cabinet is intelligent enough to think these through. You need technocrats, not wilted bureaucrats. Be smart, seek help. The PM hopes the "people will join me to overcome challenges". How? When you are awake but don't seem to get out of bed! He sensed the pulse of the nation and declared that Malaysians are fed-up with the current political bickering. This fed-up thing seems to be the flavor of the week. Malaysians don't mind them bickering. That Mr. PM, if you are still not aware is the job of politicians.... to bicker away ( because they have not grasped the polemics in debates) in Parliament, over issues that affects us the rakyat.
We, the people are fed-up with your vacillating over implementing deliberations of two Royal Commissions - the IPCMC and the Lingam affairs; the continued rise in crime and blatant corruption. These are issues we are interested. You prove to us that your government is clean and we will stop being fed-up and we will not bother you. Thats when you can rest, no, sleep peacefully.
Having to have his last say he continued: "The people have chosen Barisan Nasional to continue to rule. As such, I don't see the rationale for the continued demonstrations....." Dang, this guy still hasn't got it. Sheesssh, I am wasting my time with him. Off with you! Lets move to somebody else.
Lousy Loudy Nazri said: "It's better to put our efforts into finding solutions to problems affecting the people." Yes the most pressing problem is the escalating cost of living. PROTES called the people together to stress on this main issue and what did Najib say:
Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today labelled the day-long anti-oil hike rally yesterday as a failure because of the poor turnout.
He said that the rally, organised by the Coalition Against Inflation (Protes) at the Kelana Jaya stadium, had failed to achieve its target of one million people.
Give us a good one and we will help you take over from the PM. Scout's Honor.
"(We need) realistic and practical solutions, achieved not by being unrealistic or having to sacrifice long-term interests for short-term gain," he said.

Zorro,
you are so patient with donkeys and idiotic morons. Commenting on each one of them 1 by 1. For me I only have 3 words for these 3 morons, F#@* Them all.
Truly, do you really feel the Protes was an effective way to convey a message? And was it also good publicity Pakatan is coveying towards the public? Maybe I just feel that the PR leaders could come up with more workable solutions too, I know they are working on it, but the themselves doing something like this, what does tha say?
uncle, from now on i will try to comment more often. everyone knows that all ministers are bullshiting daily. and the mainstream media is not independent as it should b. i dont read any of the paper nowadays, blogs, alternative medias like malaysiakini will enlighten all of us. The BN regime is still arrogant as before, i do not see them berjiwa rakyat even up to tis point. they will rot in hell, god knows.
Toyolbuster...you can do this in your blog...me I owe an answer to my readers, whether right bor wrong. This much I owe them that. They dont have to nagree with me, but they have a right to say their piece.
James, spot on. Holding demonstrations or rallies doesnt solve the peoples dilemma. PR used this rally and they need to be telling the people not what they will do (bring down gas price)but give concrete assurance HOW they will do THAT. They should not be doing what BN has been doing...take the people for a ride. Tell them how you will do that and with specifics.....not vague promises.
zorro,to najib;the '30,000' hav been mistaken !!he got messed up with the 'unit',he must hav thought that it is 'rm'--ringgit malaysia u are talking about n not people.of course,rm30,000 is nothing to him!!
Petrol in Brunei is B50cts. The country is a net exporter of oil like our country. Brunei is tax free and everything from cars to chocolate are cheap there. Brunei dollars are as strong as Singapore so what's your call Malaysia?
I check back your blog and so glad to find out u attended the Protest Rally and blog about it with photos,"....They came to an illegal gathering this morning. They came with their children and their aged parents to an illegal. rally. They brushed aside the psychological warfare staged the evening before with military trucks, police roadblocks, rumours of cancellation of Protes rally......" isn't this comment of your touching! ---what SIMPLE folks will do to defend the Nation and perceived injustice?
Zorro ,my hero, you didn't disappoint me, for you didn.t allow "....three Bahamian grandsons, Bernard, Ryan and Patrick and whoever Kevin fathers to think that their grandpa didnt do enough to make this world a better place for them."
Keep Soldiering on. Fight a good fight till the end. I promise u, it will be over by 1st September 2008!!!

R-A-H-M-A-N(NAZRIN) = PM !
LONG LIVE YM NAZRIN !! (stcin)
PM FORGETS EASILY !!
The Honorable PM of Malaysia has come out of his silent reflections over the weekend and made some statements in the media this day Monday of July 7, about truth, lies and perceptions.
Perhaps the PM in his grave lamentations also forgot the wise words of Jacques Prevert the French Poet: When truth is no longer free, freedom is no longer real.
Mr. PM you forget that Malaysia is one country in the world with many records.
We have the world's tallest 'twin' towers yet the lowest morals. We gun each other down with tales of butt poking.
We have a spanking airport that is a world icon, yet we cannot end the 'ulat' scourge let alone make it free from armed shoot outs.
We are the only ONE nation in the world that lugs a king-sized mattress to court merely to politically kill a contender.
We say that ahlongs will be dealt with and the next year we approve licenses for them to operate nationwide.
We say austerity drive, but our Yang Berhormats continue their holidays and shopping sprees in Paris and London.
Come on Mr Prime Minister, was it not you who appointed the band of cabinet ministers? Should you not then be telling your men and women to walk the talk and talk the walk? Why are you again blaming the rakyat?
Why are you again blaming the 'opposition' parties that rule the five states? Why are you cutting back on projects now managed by the 'opposition' members? Why are you not accepting the rakyat's decision at the 12th GE? Why are you then not leading the nation with exemplary leadership of collaboration? Why? Why? Why?
Why is it that immigration records can just vanish into thin air?
Why is it only in 'Malaysia Truly Asia' foreigners can be C4-ed and justice takes ages to be served?
Why is it so difficult to resolve the Lingam-gate and move on?
Why is it that you send a space tourist into orbit but proclaim without batting an eye that we have a Malaysian astronaut?
After all Mr PM do not forget too that at one time you left the very party and government to be on the other side of the fence. So do we say you were then a traitor?
I have a suggestion. Why don't you imprison all the 'opposition' members and all the rakyat who are in favor of the 'opposition' parties? That way you will have no problems with your allegation of there being too much lies, untruths, perceptions, and what have you.
If this country fails, you have to be the first person to take all the blame because you opted to be our leader. That is what leadership is all about sir.

Bernard, how do we pronounce your name: ber-nard or ber-nerd? Seems like its not consistent in Msia.
If this is the calibre of PR organizing events, hmm... I see them on the ay to even more wastage of public funds in thefuture. Now I wonder where the funds for the Protes comes from? Donations again? Clearly this Protes thingie reminds me of a Sure Heboh event, lol! Only Sure Heboh was more people friendly and wholesome. Haha!
Badawi & KJ are laughing out loud now, with Najib & Anwar playing each other backside!
The public are highly suspicious of the polis as by allowing the protest to be held in a stadium .
Stadium protest is dangerous as the pigs (polis) can effectively seals off all exits.
Never mind about the low turnout , as most of us already did the protest , this explains why the 5 states and Kuala Lumpur are NOT under bn .
when moron talk, the skies weep.
Uncle, I was posting on this and went to your site to link you day at the protes, when I read your take, u did earlier...Najib made me amd...can I likn you kelana report and this one too for my rant?
Tehsin
Khun, when the people voted for opposition in the last elections, doesnt mean that they believe in PR, but merely it was an alternative to BN. Nobody said it was a good alternative. It was JUST an alternative. Take it this way, right now PR is under so called 5 year probational period by the rakyat. If the PR perform, then good we will let you stay. But judging from more and more bad publicity incidents like this Protes thing, PR REALLY has to work really hard if they really intend to be the people's government.
Saying that, the target was 1 million, but how many actually came? If the people really supposrt PR no matter what, they would make the numbers 2 million even, police or no police.
I already mentioned many times to the PR MPs i know, that people want to hear about SOLUTIONS!!! NOT JUST PROMISES.
Where is Bala ?
List of probabilities....
1) taken captive by top secret Mongolian agents?
2) in safe custody of the Mongolian Goverment?
3) Only appears for the right time to come out...VVP makes the wrong move and booomm! he comes with CIA,Interpol,FBI and DNA & lie detector specialists ?
4) I pray he is not another victim of C4... these bastards! are capable of anything!
5) Still counting his share of the commission 50/50 ! in Bkt Aman Secret Hide out for ' Executives' only!'
It seems pretty obvious that the whole country is in a jam - because the Umno flers simply don't have the good sense and good manners to share power with the new Pakatan Rakyat state governments and work together for the common good of the country. But it's also obvious that Umno leaders have committed far too many crimes over the decades - and now, with more open discussion and information sharing on the internet, they can no longer cover up any of their misdeeds. It's plain as day that unless the AG, the IGP and DPM go on leave, there can be no thorough investigation of the Altantuya case. Nor can there be any significant action taken on the Royal Commission report on the Lingam tape, nor Anwar's proof that both the AG and IGP were personally responsible for falsifying evidence to get him convicted in 1999. All these wrongdoings - including the high-level cover up of the Altantuya murder case - involve the AG, IGP and DPM. No doubt the PM and his silly SIL are also implicated - in fact, the entire BN government is implicated in covering up serious crimes, ranging from massive corruption to pre-meditated murder! In effect, there will be no happy resolution till the BN becomes the Opposition and the Pakatan Rakyat takes over as the government of the day - with control of the police and armed forces. We the Rakyat must DEMAND that the AG, IGP and DPM take a temporary leave of absence, thereby allowing justice to take its course.
weh uncle zorro!
we enjoy your replies! don't stop coz of that toyolfella...
